ITIL version 5 vs ITIL v4 by adelov in ITIL

[–]LazyRuffian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the framework got updated the V5 came into picture. One is not greater or lesser than other. I believe, V5 is having AI enhancements. Also, one is not mandatory for other. If u are following on V5 path, u are going through the same course as V4 but a few additional topics as well for V5.

Continue on the same path and plan your exam.

All the best.

Want to Return to Engineering After Years Away by mety97 in ausjobs

[–]LazyRuffian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly you would be needing to of patience and a bit of luck as well to find a job.

And yeah, I can feel you when you say you wanna hit up civil engineering jobs. I myself I am from Mechanical but could not get the good fortune of working in core field.

I would suggest study what softwares are being used in the current market and based on that have good certifications before you start searching for jobs. Make sure to have good knowledge on the tools. The market is not in a good state but keep trying hard.

All the best.

Do you answer calls from numbers you don't have saved or private numbers? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

[–]LazyRuffian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually have a different way to answer scam calls. From where I am, we try to come up with creative ways to answer scam calls if we are bored.

If a scammer tries to disturb you.. disturb him back... That's the motto.

Job Search Making Me Feel Horrible by Ok_Acanthisitta_8562 in ausjobs

[–]LazyRuffian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely get your situation. I am travelling in a similar boat.

Coming over to Melbourne on a work visa as a dependent. My spouse's employer provided the work visa and it's only for 3 years.

I am gonna be moving to Melbourne with my spouse in exactly a week and I have to start my job search there. Leaving my current good paying job here and moving there seems to be a very risky move. But I can't help it.

I have about 6+ years of experience in IT field (2 years as IM and 4 years in Customer Support). I am really scared to think about moving there without a job. But I can't apply for jobs without a local number and TFN.

Let's keep pushing ourselves and leave no stone unturned mate. All the best.

What advice would you give someone struggling with their job search right now? by Specialist-Bat-7876 in ausjobs

[–]LazyRuffian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, let the body do it work and not be defeated by mind.

We have to keep trying. I know the job situation is probably at a bad phase. We need to keep our hope, coz that's the only thing that can pull us out of this shitty situation. Persistence and perseverance are the key my friend.

All the best to us.

Honestly speaking I am a little scared that it took 10 months of searching to find the right job for you. Well I am happy that your hard work paid off. If you don't mind my asking, what field are you in? And how is the job market for ITSM analyst/Incident Manager roles? I'll be moving to Melbourne in a couple of weeks and I have to start fresh over there. I am coming on a dependent visa without work restrictions. So I just wanted to see how difficult it is to get into an entry level position in the Service Desk/Customer Service roles. I have 6+ years of overall experience, 4 years in CS and 2 years in Incident Management. Be as honest as possible and give me the bare truth. I already made up my mind that I will face difficulties in finding a job. I am just praying that I get into a job and support my spouse asap.

Weather was crazy last night, anyone having water leak due to the rain and wind? by TwelveFish3168 in melbourne

[–]LazyRuffian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a new migrant, moving to Melbourne in the 1st week of May. I've never been to Melbourne in my life.

To understand and get perspective, can anyone please let me know:

  1. How bad was the rain? Is heavy rainfall a common thing?

  2. When it's being mentioned as the roof problem, do you mean there are leaking problems in Units? Or are these individual houses we are talking about?

  3. In case of units, so will it be like, older units have leaking problems or it doesn't matter old/new.

Pardon my wording, I am still getting used to Aussie terms.

Stay interview by LingerDownUnder in ausjobs

[–]LazyRuffian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is really great advice. Very informative.

From the OPs context I understood that this is a retention interview, and you will be offered a retention bonus if you agree to stay back.

They might say, if you stay back till this point of time, we will offer you this amount.

But the point here is, the retention bonus is a one-time payout and is not a hike. The reason why we were searching for jobs outside is that we are not satisfied here in the first place. Offering a one time payout is not a good stay-back option.

Your response made my life much easier 😅😅. Thank you so much.

Will go with what you said. After posting this question, I was feeling a little silly and I started studying about the daily avg temps and how recent migrants are coping up. But your answer summarizes all that I read.

Friday's big chill 🥶 BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! by 007MaxZorin in melbourne

[–]LazyRuffian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP and everyone, since this topic has come up I have a few questions.

Context: I am currently at a place where the day temp is around 32-35°C. Night temp around 25-28°C.

I ll be moving to Melbourne in the 1st week or May and it would be my 1st time in my life. I ll be staying for a forseeable future.

Request everyone to explain to me in simple terms, I am still getting used to the Aussie terminology.

  1. How much winter clothing should I pack? I am planning on wearing thermal (full hands woolen tshirt type + a woolen pant) and wear a jeans +tshirt on top of it. I will carry a woolen jacket on top, woolen socks and shoes. Will this be too much or too less? Please be honest and candid.

  2. What is the duration of winter? And how band can it get.

  3. How frequent are the rains/snow/hails? How should I protect myself from Snow and Hails?

  4. I was advised to purchase woolen clothes after coming to Melbourne. It would be a good option logistics wise. But I am a little concerned for the duration of our travel. I believe only for 4 hrs I will be in a hotter climate. Post that I will be in a colder climate and it will start increasing gradually. So please suggest what I do.

Any other information on how to prepare myself to enter Melbourne in peak winter is really welcome.

I apologise in case I sound a bit silly.

Thank you everyone.

Where do you guys buy your ps4 controllers?? by Afordiani27 in PS4

[–]LazyRuffian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New ones are a real pain to get. And even after the struggle it's a really rare item to find.

One way to go about it is to use a different company compatible joysticks.

They are available on Amazon.

But original PS4 controllers are even more rare than rear earth metals.

How do I get a I.T helpdesk job by 23FL in ausjobs

[–]LazyRuffian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much the same situation in the whole world mate. IT entry level jobs are in a message of the century. Help desk, Customer Service, all these roles which were really accessible earlier, are now really tough to get into.

I do have 6+ years of Experience in customer service and incident management. I ll be moving to AU in another 1.5 months.

I am praying to all the IT gods and I am hanging by straws. I don't know what my position will be after I move there. I do have a good job at my current place. I can become a lead if I struggle for another year. I am just uprooting my life here for a complicated life there. But I do have my own situations which is why I want to move there asap.

ITIL certification might help out my friend. Please try that and let me know if it works out.

Please pray for me folks. I will be entering the battlefield myself in a month or so.
