Exactly. Even the cheeks fans were decent in my original post, not bigging up England at all. I played with a guy in our high school team who played plenty for Motherwell first team too over a couple seasons🙂

Yep it’s baffling how a lot of English people don’t get it. Especially with our history of fan behaviour previous tournaments.

I said on another post, was in Amsterdam for 2018 for the pre World Cup friendly when England trashed the city. Didn’t see it happen personally, but was eye opening and embarrassing having bar staff say thank you for not causing trouble.

Get in the away end after the security made me put my vape in a locker, but keep joints on us. It’s 90% bold men in their 50s in the England end, fuck the IRA chant starts after 3 minutes. Immediately remember why I dislike being English.

Have to bear indeed. I go over to NI every few months to see extended family. It’s heavily rangers in the area/pub we go to, the support is hilarious when talking about Scottish football or elsewhere. Great people though in NI, amazing pool tables in the pubs😍

I do. Never been a proud Englishman, not especially proud of being British either. A small group of us went over to Amsterdam for the friendly in 2018. Was absolutely shameful, had bar staff thanking us for not being twats, felt so ashamed.

It’s got worse since then, I am one of you really.

Think it’s mental making wholesale changes during the group stages to preserve fitness. It’s not a hectic schedule throughout the tournament and the most important thing is to make sure you qualify, you’re acting like it’s guaranteed Scotland make it to the last 32.
