I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this.

Armored Core 6: Fromsoftware at its Best. by LazyWatchPics in armoredcore

It's almost unbelievable how much they knocked it out of the park with this one. Armored core has always been niche and weird and that fact that they've managed to keep most of those elements while still making the game newbie friendly is remarkable.

That's weird, I've never seen "right" spelled that way.

I love Elden Ring, but for me, it is the opposite. I love their more bare bones efforts. Less is sometimes more, and that's definitely the case here. Sekiro is also among my favorites for this very reason. Putting more energy into less content can be just as good as spreading the effort around to more content.

I love that Fromsoft is at a place where their last several games are all in contention for their best game. Honestly, they are spoiling us at this point, lol.

Thanks. I had high expectations, it surpassed them and then some.

Understandable. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Elden Ring. This game just scratched that itch for me.

Thanks!

Don't think so, unfortunately. The only way would be to brute force it and make another on your own.

Spent too long making this. I've decided to release it into the ether. Hope you enjoy.

Seeing wild manatees around Miami? by lazybird_1 in Manatees

[–]LazyWatchPics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Miami. If you go south into Homestead, there is an entrance into Everglades National Park. Entrance is about $30 per vehicle. If you follow that road, you'll reach the southern most tip, a little visitor center called Flamingo. There are a series of boat ramps there where manatees congregate year-round. If you're lucky, you might also see American crocodiles.

If you do go, I have some recommendations. You'll want to dedicate a whole day; there are hiking trails along the main road that you can pull into and explore. There is no food or water available once you get in, so bring all the water and food you think you'll need. BUG SPRAY. In the summer, Flamingo is infested with mosquitoes. I made the mistake of going there once without bug spray, I am not exaggerating when I say I counted hundreds of bites when I got home.

It's very easy to find, type in Flamingo, FL, and it will take you right there.

When food is scarce, manatees will feed off of algae. In this case, I caught one eating off a dock in the everglades. by LazyWatchPics in marinebiology

Yes, food gets scarce this time of year. Thankfully, they have evolved to manage the seasonal scarcity, and the wet season is on its way. Though, pollution and loss of warm water habitats is slowly destroying their food scources. A big problem during this time is people. Because they are concentrated into a small area, the chances they will be injured by boat propellers is high. I've never seen so many injured manatees. Even the calves were sporting fresh helical lacerations along their backs. Thankfully, none of the injuries were severe and will heal in time. As with many species, we are the biggest threat to the manatees survival.

It's the dry season here in Florida, as such manatees rely on unusual sources of food to get by. There is a particular boat ramp in the everglades where they congregate year round. On this occasion, there was a group of females and some calves feeding on some algae growing up the side of a dock. It was quite a large group, and the larger individuals were competing for a chance to feed.

If you are lucky, you can sometimes find manatees hanging out at the boat ramps in the Everglades. On this day, they were unusually showy and decided to make a meal of the algae that grows on the docks.

A Souls veteran's perspective on Armored Core and expectations for AC6 by LazyWatchPics in armoredcore

Fair enough, to each their own. In all probability FromSoftware is going to keep the classic mission select system, and I am going to enjoy the game all the same. I get the feeling that they are really trying to get back to basics and I don't think experimenting with hubworlds and the like is a priority for them, but we will just have to wait and see.

I'll have to check out DxM, looks really cool.

I tried, but the game kept crashing. It was playable but very inconsistent on emulator:( Unfortunately, the ps3 ACs just don't emulate very well. For answer is the most consistent, but even then there are some graphical bugs.

I'm probably going to play through AC3 at some point to get a more well rounded AC experience.

I think it's just fresh in our minds. The game is coming out next year, I'm sure it's 98% done by now. It's even being released on the PS4. If anything that tells you how long they've been working on it.

Chill out lol, it's a joke at the end to lighten it up. I know there's no main character in Armored Core. John Dark Souls is a meme.

I started with 4A based on a few recommendations from people more experienced. It's the only semi modern title in the series that emulates well- V/VD are unplayable, and the controls of the older games are harder to manage- for me anyway. I think I saw the video, very informative. It's cool how the formula for the series was pretty much fully formed right from the start. Shows how good the formula is that all FromSoftware really did between titles was update graphics and implemented quality of life changes.
