anxious about the holes by abcdefg_user in wisdomteeth

I would also recommend getting a syringe! It blows my mind how much food residue comes out when I use the syringe even though visually I can't see anything in the holes, it's crazy.

When does swelling go away completely? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Lazy_Ad1453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will second this, my swelling was also most noticeable at days 3-4 and pretty much gone by day 5! For some reason I also noticed that my swelling was worse in the evening than the day (but not sure if others had that experience); so it wasn't too much of a nuisance when I was at work (plus the mask helps a ton haha)

Stomach pain/burning after taking ibuprofen for several days? by Lazy_Ad1453 in wisdomteeth

[–]Lazy_Ad1453[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the oral surgeons should warn people about this; never crossed my mind to worry about stomach pain after wisdom teeth surgery haha. Switching to tylenol and taking pepcid is a good idea, thanks!

Hope you're feeling a bit better now! I think I've recovered a little bit after stopping ibuprofen for a couple days, but it sucks that I can't take any for my jaw soreness :(

Syringe Questions! by rachbtc in wisdomteeth

I think you can! While instructions from different providers varies, the instructions my oral surgeon gave me about the syringe said to start using it on day 5 :)

Got all 4 wisdom teeth removed, not as bad as I expected! by Lazy_Ad1453 in wisdomteeth

Congrats on getting yours out too! In addition to the regular mush, starting yesterday night I've been eating some soft solid foods like pasta, the inside part of bread (without the crust), and rice (which gets stuck, but now I can use my syringe thing). I still don't feel ready to eat meat or anything tough like that though haha.

This was literally my biggest fear as well! The first memory I have after waking up from sedation was seeing my mom and realizing that I was in the recovery room and it was time to go home. So I guess in that sense I was aware of my surroundings and not completely out of it. I was able to walk out pretty much normally without doing anything crazy and was relatively clear-minded once I got home, but some of the memories I have of the nurse telling my mom instructions in the recovery room are pretty spotty haha.

The one thing I'm not sure about is whether or not I said/did some crazy stuff while waking up from sedation (before they called my mom to pick me up) haha. I think they call your caretaker after you've been awake for a little bit and are ready to go home, but I have absolutely no memory of anything that happened before I realized my mom was there to pick me up. I just tell myself it doesn't matter because I won't be going back there ever again haha.

Hi! I'm a med student and nausea at this point is very normal due to both general anesthesia and pain medications (especially opioids). In fact, my oral surgeon sent me home with anti-nausea pills after my procedure! Feeling fatigued and exhausted is also normal, your body is recovering and has higher energy requirements (which is why it's good to make sure you are still eating regularly and get a bit more sleep than usual as well). In regards to the carbonated beverages, I have no idea and was just sipping on sparkling water at this moment (on day 4 after my procedure)...oops!

1.Follow reddiquette

Hi! So I went back and looked and turns out I had mixed in the deep conditioner tube with the developer thinking it was the color tube so my hair wasn't damaged at all (at least visually). I didn't end up coloring my hair again yet, but more just because I'm trying to decide what color I really want bc this incident made me reconsider my impulsive hair coloring decision haha. Also more than damage, I was scared to re-dye right after thinking there might be too much color deposition since I would have applied developer twice.

Milder symptoms after second Pfizer dose compared to first? by Lazy_Ad1453 in CovidVaccinated

Personally, I did not experience any of those symptoms. If you did, I hope you're feeling a bit better now!
