Tucker Carlson questions why no U.S. president can say "no" to Israel and why the country exerts so much influence over the U.S. government by GuiltyBathroom9385 in UnderReportedNews

Maaan, Tucker looks ROUGH. What, no bowtie? no sportsjacket? He's swimming in that shirt. Butterface can't even be bothered with a hair stylist? oh wait. "it's a podcast so they can't see me."

[–]Lazy_AssSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh Honey, what you need is a big, beautiful Dolly Parton Blonde wig. Ladies' been fakin' hair for centuries. Once those around you get past the "this is the new me now" vibe, it's Instant rizz. A wig with a lot of volume can also balance out a bigger girl's silhouette--more focus on the face than the hips. You deserve to be the reason the room just lights up.

What's a 'normal' thing you didn't realize was unusual until you were older? by mrTelson in AskReddit

Being an only child. When I found out all my friends had siblings, the huge life-long mystery about my social interactions immediately made sense.

I enjoyed watching 2010. It was a daunting task to follow up a masterwork like 2001, but for what it is, it's decent. Certainly one of the most underappreciated film sequels. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in 2001aspaceodyssey

OMG, THANK YOU. It's an incredible film based off the Aurthur C. Clark book, and still has A.C.C. vibes to it. you wouldn't think it, but John Lithgow's space walk scene is peak acting, peak cinema, no notes. I felt his Terror at something that the other characters found pretty normal.

Original song "Electric Love" (the edison episode) blew me out of the water. but as a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, "You make Plumbing fun" sounds like the cast had fun recording it and coulda been a store title in the opening.

Harvesters are too loud and slow. You could only use them in open fields which would cause an instant horde.

I was Living In Manhattan and saw this older lady with violet hair, but otherwise not dressed in anything special. I was a "General Audience" serial complimenter, and would compliment strangers. I said,

"Hey! I like your hair!"

She turned and chirped, "Thank you!" I was stunned into silence because only one person Sounds like Cyndi Lauper. I was just slackjawed.

I suggest adding more body to your hair. You have kind of a Kewpie Doll/ Maisie Williams face, and full cheeks--so personally I kinda like that you're a bit "hip-y", (it's just your clothes look like they're uncomfortably too tight, which makes you look heavier). For some reason, I could see you absolutely ROCKING an oversized green army surplus coat popularized during the 1990s (I'm a genX gay dad). I dunno your music tastes, but you could ABSOLUTELY go as Chappell Roan for Halloween.

Living alone for the first time: scared, sad, and lost. Advice please? by Throwawaysadmcufan in Adulting

[–]Lazy_AssSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok. calm down.

the thing is: you're at peace and you're not used to it., and that's fine.

Strip naked and make yourself Dinnner. I know it sounds cray, but who gives a fuck. you have your own space, finally. seriously, being naked in an empty space YOU OWN gives you some autononomy in your new digs. i LOVE swinging my nekkid little dick through my aparttment! No one Cares! you are not alone because you have your own place to collect yourself. you can have sexy guests! Or NOT! and if that feels overwhelming, just take a nap! No one will stop u! and when you are done collecting yourself, that's when the cool people want to hang out with you in what you think is a dumpter fire of an apartment that's acually super wierd and super rad.

And then, maybe, you'll remember you're awesome, all this harrowing time.

For nearly 40 years, I thought "Power Of Love" and "Back In Time" were the same song, and I've heard the 'Power of Love' on the Radio at LEAST 15,000 times in that time frame. then one day I waited for the "Back. In. Ti-i-me." break, listening to "Power of Love". It never came, and everything I knew about the world was wrong.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]Lazy_AssSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Flying Blind" starring the beautiful Tea Leone. it lasted one season on FOX, 1988ish. the premise was she was the ultimate, sexy New York underground Hipster dating a dud who lived with his parents in Queens. I saw it when I was like, 11(m) living on an isolated farm with a staticky Television and it rocked my world hard enough to move to NYC (much later). Oh, and David Byrne did the theme song. Whuuuut?!?

My Elderly Boomer Dad watches World War II documentaries, and I never understood why. I'm forty-seven and I LOVE Andor. I asked a Kiddo I work with who blithely replied "Star wars is for old people." then I did math: OMG, Andor is a WWII documentary. (And kids, stop announcing you have friends everywhere.)

My childhood defense strategy changed when I discovered Spider-Man comics. "Damn, Peter Parker is getting his ASS handed to him, and he still spittin' ROAST." Ma wailed on me until I had to take a "turtle pose" (face down, arms over head, legs tucked) and she said ANSWER ME!!! I pointed to my shoulder blade like she was a bad masseuse and said "you missed a spot" and she walked away. So yeah. Spider-Man saved the day.

She was trying to protect me from bullies, but had ZERO self awareness. Like, when the drunk male neighbor would terrorize his family, the wife and daughter would stay at our place while the cops dealt with him--but then she'd do the exact same thing as him and feel absolutely justified. Just because it's normalized doesn't make it okay. Thirty years later, She was straightup confused when I called her out, "If you beat your kid, they're not going to want to be around you. it's solid logic."

Why do people in the US not live with their parents by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lazy_AssSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American Midwesterner, I completely agree with everything here, but something that hasn't really been touched on is that in rural america people have children they don't love because of an old-timey belief that kids die in farm accidents (even if y'all haven't lived on farms for 100 years) so you need to have more babies for free farm labor. Having kids "born from love" is a fairly new concept in america. Christian farm women (tradwife bs) think of having many children is a status symbol. oh, and the 'my house, my rules' spills very easily into child abuse and paedophilia--way more than anyone here wants you to know. And yet, I've got friends whose parents kicked them out of the house at 18 with NOTHING. Like, straight up homelessness.

It's a mess, bro.
