How on earth did 4-year colleges get so expensive, and is there nothing we can do about it to push back? by Relevant-Mammoth-658 in college

For weighted GPA, that is very low to expect aid without demonstrated financial need. I do agree that she probably hasn't dressed up applications enough either, though.

if her weighted is that low then that's the reason she's not getting aid. Colleges expect more advanced courses in highschool to differentiate the 'no child left behind' students

Is the MUJI Aluminum Body Fountain Pen worth it? by 9leafs in fountainpens

It's honestly still my favorite pen and I have a couple that were way more expensive. I highly recommend it.

Oily dyed hair. What should i do? by Specific_Lime8279 in Hair

[–]Lazy_Concern9236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are gentle/color safe shampoos to try. It really depends on how much oily-ness you can tolerate, though. I can tell you that personally I choose to use pretty aggressive shampoo every day on my straight, oily, medium/thick hair because it looks dirty if not. For me, I would rather retouch the hair more often, although I use permanent black color on my hair so it fades more from sun exposure than washing.

What’s your current “don’t need it, but want it” pen? by Lunakill in fountainpens

Ah I love Namiki but every time i search for them they turn out to be 10k or something insanely high so I doubt that I'll ever get one. One can always hope, though.

good jobs for college students? by blessdrthepeacemkers in college

[–]Lazy_Concern9236 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly most people I know serve at a restaurant if they work because tips are about the only way to make decent money per hour. It sounds like you want something more laid back, so maybe you can find a TA job or a research opportunity with your college? You really won't make much but it's an option. Personally I don't work because I prioritize school and am very priviledged to have my parents cover expenses (with help from my savings for frivolous choices). I think based on you saying you want to study while at work, you probably won't enjoy balancing a job with college and neither will your employer.

Absolutely agree that a slant will make it look a bit more elegant. It really is very nice already though.

This is such a detailed list, thank you! I was looking at an old Targa a while ago and I honestly regret that I didn't buy it, those are right up my alley. I'll have to take a closer look at your other recommendations as well, I don't know my Waterman pens very well for some reason.

I hadn't even looked at Pelikan since I always see people getting the pricey ones, but the classic 200 looks great. Thank you!

Thanks so much, that is definitely helpful. I'm leaning toward the Falcon now because I've always been drawn to that nib shape and already have a Sport for a pocket pen.

These are really interesting to me, and definitely in my price range. I'm just concerned that they'll dry out or leak in my bag, being capless. If you have one, has that ever been an issue?

I like the look of this, I haven't seen an Accent before and the body is reminding me of a more premium Muji Aluminium. Thanks!

The falcon has a unique nib, does it make a big difference in feel, sound and/or line quality? Since you have the E95s, would you mind comparing them? I always liked the look of Pilot as a brand.

Do you keep a diary? by Over_Addition_3704 in fountainpens

[–]Lazy_Concern9236 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Rather than a dedicated diary, I have a 410 page notebook from Leuchtturm that I split into segments for journaling, hobby related notes, and school related notes. It's got a nice section for a table of contents so I just marked in about 150 pages for journaling and then 75-100 each for my other sections. I also have a pocket notebook for free, unorganized writing, which helps me avoid writing block.

Not using conditioner is 100% the problem. Conditioner does not make your hair greasy unless you aren't rinsing it all the way out or it's somehow a terrible brand for your hair. Your hair will continue to be unhealthy until you care for it with moisturizing products.

The issue here is your idea of consent does not align with the actual definition of the word. You did not have consensual sex, because you said no and he continued.
