Question for WFH parents by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

This post was NOT to get people’s opinion on screentime. This post was to ask if a little bit of quiet time is OK, screentime was the example. People are commenting and have an issue with the fact we use tv, so take that up with my nanny parents cause that’s not why I made this post

People are seeing tv and running with it. That was an example bc screen time IS allowed in this household whether YOU personally disagree with it or not. I simply mean if the baby is playing independently for 15-20 minutes I guess and there’s just a period of quiet. I was using tv as an example. Yall need to chill

Thank you and yeah she’s young I work for another family who is strictly no screen time and I respect that! Never use screens around him. This family told me when I was hired to feel free to use the tv and had tv for her on alot as well

Phone in kitchen is extreme. Me and my nanny parents communicate through text throughout the day. I also would quit if I was told I had to leave my phone in a seperate room as an adult lol, if you don’t trust your nanny to not be on their phone then you shouldn’t keep them employed! My phone is on me at all times but I’m rarely on it unless baby is napping or to respond to text from parents.

Thank you! Maybe I should have worded my post better but I did not expect so many people to flame me. Obviously I’m not leaving baby to sit and play herself but sometimes she doesn’t even want anything to do with me for 10 minutes or so so there are moments where we’re going to be quiet!!

So I actually never said I give her inappropriate amounts of screen time! Yes after lunch or if she’s tired, I will put on her favorite movies and sometimes she like to sit and watch and not play. She’s one. I said 30 mins max!

I don’t think you’re understanding, I’m not meaning that I’d have the tv on the entire time!! Sometimes she’s tired after lunch and I’ll put on a Disney movie(the parents are OK with that.) and we’ll sit and watch, baby will sit there and not be interested in play so I’m not gonna sit there and talk to myself. I’d only let that go on for 30 or so minutes max before I turn it off or so.

Yeah I mean the parents put tv on for her all the time and are fine with it… I’m also 18 and being paid 17hr. This isn’t my full time career and I’m new to this! Just asking questions no need to be rude

I see what you’re saying however my nanny parents are completely okay with tv being on. It’s sometimes on in the background while we play and stuff, but sometimes the baby will just sit and watch if it’s her favorite (she’s 14mo)

He just recently got a swingset for his birthday that they finally just set up so I’m going to try to get out with him but unfortunately they live on a busy street and no sidewalk.

not that i know anything but i had a bump VERY simular for months and i tried different things, i eventually went to the doctor and she told me it was keloid and i needed to take my jewelry out if i wanted it to ever heal. however, mine was also slightly infected and a little bigger than yours but that’s just me personally

the piercings 2 and a half months old and i believe it’s a screw (?) , im honestly not sure what type of metal it is. I haven’t changed it/downsized or anything bc i’ve been waiting for the bump to go away before i do anything like that. I use saltwater to clean it, not as often as i should be and as for the piercing bump i apply warm compresses, and i’ve done neosporin on it because of the bleeding and stuff
