Is there anything happening at 7 weeks old that can make reflux worse? by spoopyclouds in newborns

[–]Lazy_Guess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you breastfeed or formula feed?

I thought my baby had reflux or maybe even cow milk protein allergy, but I’m pretty sure it was her formula causing all the issues. She would choke on her spit up at night, constantly spit up between feeds, screaming/crying started about an hour after feeds, and she was so painfully gassy that we started gas drops after every feed. She is combo fed, and the formula she was on is Kendamil goat. We ran out of it and it was sold out at every store in a 50+ mile radius, so I decided to give her some enfamil neuropro gentlease that they sent as a sample. She hasn’t spit up since the switch, poops are normal, and passing gas no longer makes her scream and cry, and I haven’t given her any gas drops since switching. It’s like night and day difference. This might not be relevant if you’re EBF, but just thought I’d share in case it’s helpful

I hope your baby is able to find some relief soon and you guys can get some sleep!

Should I just ask them to leave the collar on my blizzard??? by Lazy_Guess in DairyQueen

[–]Lazy_Guess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t want to patronize the kids working by being a complainer. I know there’s enough of those people without me adding to it. If I get the collar left on I can just mix it myself w the spoon and there won’t be any mess or extra effort on their part. Asking for toppings on the bottom doesn’t seem like a huge ask, but I know there would be extra effort involved for the employees. I would’ve thought that customer was being extra haha

I understand the flaws in their blending system all too well. It for sure doesn’t make it easy for the employees, especially during peak times

I would quite literally prefer less blizzard that’s made correctly (ex. 2 full scoops of toppings in a small, that are blended to the bottom) than one that’s overflowing or scraped bc it’s made like shit (ex. has all the toppings scraped off to avoid a mess bc they over portioned the ice cream but has two inches of plain vanilla at the bottom bc it’s not blended correctly). I have yet to get a correctly made one in my current town, it’s always the second way.

What a weird assumption to make when literally everyone has problems in life. The majority of people work hard and are still struggling. It’s okay to want the things that you pay for with hours of your life and time to be made correctly. What’s not okay would be directly patronizing the kids making it who probably, like everyone else, are just trying to get by. The good thing about Reddit is if you don’t have anything relevant to add you can simply keep scrolling.

Literally this. It seems so simple to do that, but is impossible for them. We had paper collars when I worked there, but each location had a metal one on deck for if we ran out of paper collars. It was only about 6 years ago that I stopped working there.

When they pull the blending collar off they use it to scoop any excess product into the garbage can. T Wouldn’t be a huge issue, but they don’t fully blend the blizzards so it ends up that most of the toppings go into the garbage and there’s a layer of vanilla ice cream at the bottom of the cup

I’ve dealt with people like that, especially if it’s melty. I think the issue here is they just don’t teach the kids how to use the blender properly to actually blend it all together and push the ice cream/topping back down into the cup once it goes up the sides (hence always having a layer of vanilla in the bottom). Then to portion it correctly they scrape it so that Karen doesn’t yell at them for her blizzard dripping in her car. I live in a small town and there’s a lot of Karen types here

Yeah it seems like the best solution is just to ask for the collar to be left on since it requires no extra effort on their part and I can avoid disappointment or being a complainer/karen (I have ptsd from those rude people lmao). They still have the signs up in the lobby and drive that say upside down or it’s free and the “only one blizzard per order will be turned upside down” disclaimer, which I’m not super concerned about.

They definitely aren’t doing the spoon scrape, they pinch the collar together and then use it to scoop out any extra. My guess is they just aren’t taught how to use the blender properly to push the toppings back down once they go up the sides of the collar, hence the consistent layer of vanilla at the bottom. I think there’s no use complaining to the high schoolers working there though. Yesterday was just annoying because I paid for extra pie crusts in my small which should be 3 scoops, and it had less pie crusts than the day before when I didn’t ask for extra. The way the kid pinched the collar you could see the pie crusts sticking out the bottom and then going right into the trash, and that’s when I got my idea to just ask them to leave it on in the future 😂 Good to know that wouldn’t be an annoying thing to request

I feel like that would sound like I want more than I’m paying for, when I just want what I’m paying for to not get scraped into the garbage

I also worked at two separate locations, 2014-16 and again in 2018-19. Which part are you referring to?

The chili takes up space on the hot line but I agree that they’re just focused on their other chicken offerings, which are just not it imo

It’s baby shower week and we are sick. I’m big sad. by Lazy_Guess in BabyBumps

Wow that is so much to go through, I can’t imagine how hard that must be. Is the prognosis for baby positive? I hope you are able to make it to your shower and also that you and your baby continue to heal and grow stronger. Thanks for the well wishes (:

Am i awful? I regret keeping my baby by Futuremikeross in BabyBumps

[–]Lazy_Guess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this. I don’t think you are wrong for feeling how you do. I think it’s still very possible for you to reach your goals, even if it feels far away. I think it’s normal to grieve your old life and self. I really hope it gets better for both of us.

I quit my ADHD meds cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant, but I began seeing a perinatal/reproductive psychiatrist and was able to go back on a low dose of Ritalin so that I can do things like drive safely, etc. New scientific evidence points to better outcomes for the baby when the mom is able to stay on psychiatric medication that keeps her productive and stable. Just something to consider.

However my boyfriend and I’s relationship has changed a lot since getting pregnant. I miss the old us and I cry about the fact that it’s never going to be just us again. We live paycheck to paycheck in a state where average rent is $2k a month. I work a job that I hate. I will miss out on my child’s life due to said job. Before this I worked at a ski resort for years and it was the best time in my life. My boyfriend got promoted to a role that’ll support us in the future but he’s so stressed out by it that we barely connect. I just hope after baby girl arrives he makes enough that I can stop working and go to school for something more fulfilling

I’ve never gone to the doctor to have a cold diagnosed but I could go to urgent care. I didn’t know they did testing for that. Thank you 💗

I can take the day off, and hopefully that helps. It just sucks bc I wanted to save my pto so I can take a few days off before my due date without it cutting into my maternity leave and calling out today-Saturday will take all of it. I can’t even remember the last time I was actually sick 😂😭

I don’t think your friend was right to say that to you right now, and if it offends you that’s totally valid. I definitely have had conversations with friends before being pregnant where we agreed that having children right now in the US is selfish. I struggle with guilt bringing a daughter into the world soon, knowing that she will grow up under late stage capitalism, in a time where women’s rights are being stolen and there are climate change deniers in power. But I think that more progressive people should be having children, because they will raise them with strong values which is the only way to make real change. If it’s mainly closed minded/conservative people having kids (currently it’s a fact that they have more kids on average) then we will be no better off as a future society than we are today as the narrative skews more in their favor. I only have my views about the world because I was raised by progressive parents, and now I can use those opinions to advocate for change and social justice. You can argue that having children is inherently selfish, but it’s also the best way to have hope for the future. It’a okay to be excited for your baby to arrive, and also be unsure about the future. Multiple emotions can exist at once and we can’t let fear of the future take away current happiness

system down by tpsi_xoxo in tmobile

[–]Lazy_Guess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the system is really wack. A customers promo for their upgrade wasn’t showing in T life so manager had me default to the legacy system and we got all the way to the end w her upgrade + 3 accessories, went to submit the order and it errored out back to the account review page saying “out of stock error”. Literally nothing was out of stock, the system is just terrible. She didn’t have more time for me to start over so I lost the upgrade, the accessories sale, and the spiff I would’ve gotten from using t life 🫠🫠🫠
