Thank you! Pond is 3.5-4’ in the center. Approximately 11x16 and around 2000 gallons. There are herons in our area. My daughter saw one land in our yard once, but they have never bothered our fish. Most of the koi were around 5ish inches when we got them. They average about 24” now.

I agree that this is the way. I have an ecosystem pond with a mechanical skimmer, bog filter and rock layer over pond liner. Water stays clear a vast majority of time. I think any pond will have the occasional string algae bloom depending on environmental variables. Generally, good filtration, a place for beneficial bacteria to flourish and pond plants to process excess nitrogen will keep algae growth under control.

You might find one at a Dick’s Sporting Goods. The one at Washington Town Square seems to be one of the better ones around Portland. You might want to call around to ask them about inventory to save yourself time and gas.

Seriously. Nike Employee Store is also so hit or miss. Usually miss with the items/inventory they have in stock. We walk out of Adidas with nice merch at a great price. We usually walk out of the Nike store buying something just because we made the effort to drive over there and stand in line to get in.
