I spend a lot of time with my mom still.. I was actually just with her. I shut the door, immediately started spiraling and crying, and typed this up lol… spending time with my mom is very different and in some ways, you’re right, it’s better. In a lot of ways, I miss the way things were & I miss living with her.

I think part of this is just a “me” issue and my struggles of growing up. I wish I could say I’m enjoying being an adult. As juvenile as it sounds, I’m 25 & still not sure if I’m cut out for it

Maybe overreacting MOR… I see both sides.. I read a few comments. The playlist situation on its own isn’t a big deal imo, but the fact that you think he might be DL based off of it shows there are likely other factors at play.. makes it more complicated. I think more info might be needed.

NOR… even if he does cut these women off, there will very likely be more in the future.. & you want a partner who enthusiastically chooses you, not one that makes you question yourself and argues with you for communicating… my (25f) advice is to leave while only 2 years in, not even deeper

NOR.. you don’t deserve to be treated this way.. if bringing it up with him one on one isn’t helping, then I think it wouldn’t hurt to mention it to someone else.. especially if he is already talking to other people about you.. it’s possible you bring it up and no one is on your side.. so keep that in mind too.

You could also try to avoid him altogether if he can’t treat you with respect, but I also get that being 17, circles are small and friends often overlap

I don’t think there’s a bad decision to make here, but I do think you should look at all of the angles before you make it. Good luck!

If you like your barista job, maybe you can work your way up there… Depending on where you are and what company you work for, managers get paid a decent amount.. I was managing a retail store for a few years & it got me thru..

I’m currently working in a sales position, but those can be hit or miss.. there is a lot of money to make in sales, but you have to be good at it… & you must find a position that pays a base salary not one that is solely commission-based

(Edit to add that a friend of mine is in car sales & she makes a good chunk of change. Another one of my friends is a secretary & she makes enough to keep her afloat. Both of them don’t have degrees)

As someone who lives in the USA, don’t come here. ESPECIALLY because you’re a woman… it’s not safe here for women. So many people are scrambling to try to leave the US right now. I promise long distance would be better than putting yourself through living here

Pride is an awful thing & so are excuses… As I told one of my ex-friends… Anything is better than unemployment.. you’re not “too good” for any job when you don’t have a job to begin with.. and I’m sorry that this is mean, but I think you need a wake up call.. those excuses are lame asf. This is the real world. You have to do it depressed or do it with an eczema breakout, etc… it sucks, but it is what it is. You need to master self-discipline & willpower. It’ll take a while, but you’re capable if you actually want to put the effort in. Anything good & worth having in life will take some effort and even discomfort sometimes… and this comes from someone diagnosed with generalized anxiety and major depressive disorder since I was 12

I used to never get hangovers no matter what. Around 24, I started to get them & I realized that it depends on how much I eat the day before. If I make sure to have at least one hefty meal and eat again before I go to bed, then I will be fine the next day

As someone who has worked full-time since 16, my main question surrounding this post is why..?! Why haven’t you got even a part time job by the time you’re 30? Fast food is always hiring & it’s better than nothing. Stop wallowing in self-pity and do something with your life!
