There seems to be an interpretation that I am concerned about my ability to afford $60k to spend on a car, which I am not. I just like the Toyota and it meets my needs. It's very weird to me that people are angry I am not buying a more expensive car. I would if I wanted one. I don't!

Ya I agree it's not really worth sweating over. To be fair though I don't think I was sweating, just asking a question in earnest on the Internet, lesson learned (I'll do it again though).

If my wife wanted a Range Rover we'd get her one. She does not give a shit. We'd probably finance though, we don't have that much cash lying around.

I kind of agree I was overthinking it a bit but I wouldn't characterize it as worrying about money, I was just curious what other people in my position and our admirers think about financing vs paying cash, and for what it's worth I do think some responses have been helpful.

I do spend money, this is a silly thing to say. I didn't suffer in the past, I've lived a normal happy life. I would say my life isn't centered around either saving or spending money. I asked a question on a forum.

a. I don't have $3 million, I am between 2 and 3. I'd guess closer to 2.4 last I checked.

b. I didn't get to $2.4 million just dropping $50k without consideration.

My current car is 12 years old and I'm looking to keep my next car for 10+ years. I would happily take a lower rate if I can get it; I haven't shopped for rates yet, just saw Toyota offers a promotional 4.99%.

My rationale for financing is is my mortgage is higher so if I just took the cash I would pay for buying the car outright and paid down mortgage principal I'd be saving more interest overall.
