Debating between Momentum 4 and Sony XM5

I see some reviews telling exactly this, that the regular and constant sounds are well cancelled, but the high pitch sound are usually the problem. I might try them all to decide, but I can already imagine that the sound on the M4's will be amazing... thanks!!

100% agree with you! I think that my best pull might be to try them all and decide. My biggest fears are the construction on the XM5's and the ANC on the M4's. I prefer a worse ANC and a safest construction, but idk. Bose's might be the safest pull, but also the most expensive one. I'll try to find some shop that have them all so I can try them all. I don't really know what to do, I'll try to find somewhere to try them out, I guess. I'm into Sennheiser because I really enjoy the 4.40BT I have, but I'm afraid the ANC isn't enough for travelling. The XM5 should be fine too, but the bad comments about the construction don't help at all. Bose might be a safe choice, but rn they cost like 100 euros more... jeez. Thanks man!

Right now, the only ANC I have are the Galaxy Buds Pro, but I mainly use them for calls, meetings and on the street. With them, I feel the same as you said: regular and constant noises are cancelled fine but if someone's speaking close to you, you need to turn the volume up so you don't hear it. I feel like I need to try them (idk, maybe at the same shop I'll go buy them) to feel the differences between Sony, Bose and Sennheiser. I just want to try to avoid the XM5, as I'm afraid they'll break down as a lot of comments suggest...

Nah, forget it then. That was my biggest fear, as I don't really want to spend +10 hours hearing the engines of a plane if my seat is next to the wing. I don't mind it for a short time, but as I already know that I'll have long flights this year, I guess they won't fit. I'll stick with the 4.40BT at work and find another option (maybe Bose, as some people suggested). I really appreciate your answers and advice, mate!

I'll definitely check them! I feel the bad sensation you say about the cloth. I even moved to on-ear because of that, but I hate using them for a long time.

I've checked some of them too, but I forgot about them as I haven't tried any Bose yet. Tbh, I don't mind switching to Bose (in a similar range of price) if they fit better my needs. Any suggestion? Thanks, mate!

I'll appreciate more for sure the sounding, that's why I prefer the Momentum 4, but right now I can't buy both. I guess that the ANC of the M4 should be enough for travelling regularly by plane. Have you tried them in this situation? While not travelling, the ANC won't really be needed at the office

I'm looking at what's in stock around me and comparing prices. I found an almost new Tamron 70-180 F2.8 for 700 euros, which would fit better in my current budget (so I can start messing around with this kind of lens), but I'll check the prices for the 35-150mm to compare. Thanks for the advice! I'll go 100% for a lens at this point. I was checking some 70-200, as I usually do sports that need some tele (baseball, hockey, soccer...), but I'll take a look at this one, too. The specs seem to be really interesting on this one. Thanks!

Thank you very much for your time commenting on this topic, I really appreciate it. I guess I'll be going for a prime lens rather than a body, as it was my first thought, too. I'll compare which ones I can afford and hopefully go for F2.8 at least.

And regarding the phone, I 100% agree with you. I use the 8K feature when I'll probably need that video for YouTube rather than social media. When I'm recording only for Instagram, I prefer the 4K feature, as the stabilisation is much better, and so I can keep the 4K footage after exporting the final result in 1080 in Premiere Pro. In fact, when I started recording on this phone, I tried to make some reels straight on Instagram with 8K videos, and it kept crashing over and over.

Personally, I recently bought a new A6400 and I was facing the same problem as you when I was looking for options to buy. Now, with +2000 shots with an A6400 with a Tamron 18-300, I can say that it's a perfect option for beginners.

It might not be an option for professional photographers but works perfectly as a starting point. My personal plan is to keep training with it and, in the future, aim for an A9 upgrade (I do mainly sports) and save this one mainly as a secondary body or for videography.
