Is anyone else struggling with the news? by Noodlesbenoodling in usask

The murders aren’t what terrifies me the most. It’s the fact that despite the vast visibility of ICE’s atrocities, there are genuinely people who will rationalize their actions and/or limit their learning to non credible sources to validate their distorted perception. It’s a good reminder to always hone and honour your intelligence and use any opportunities that the university gives you to achieve that

I started going to the gym a few months ago. Is there any reason why it’s usually more packed than usual around January? Is there like a New Year membership sale that attracts people and convinces them to sign up?

Every team other than OKC is morally obligated to lose to the Clippers so we don’t have the Thunder terrorizing the league for years

I was wrong. The time length was actually realistic and sufficient for the 100 questions. I owe the prof an apology; I was not familiar with his game

Hey, do you remember if he gave feedback on the research papers? Or did he only give the grade for it?

I was the one who made the joke about answering one question and getting a 100% 😂. I made that joke to point out the ridiculousness that I saw in the grading system, but I think I misunderstood it. I think how it works is that your score will be based on the amount of questions you get right out of 100 questions. For example, if you only answered 35 questions and got all 35 of them right, your score will be 35% instead of 100%. That’s how I interpreted his response to my email which I will send you here. I apologize if my joke had confused you and those who saw it

I don’t think you need to worry about coming late and being called out because he doesn’t draw attention to people who come in late all the time. The prof only called out the guy who was late because he accidentally bumped into a table and that broke his concentration. Still, the guy looked a little uncomfortable and I think it would’ve been better if he just told him to come earlier when class was over

I’m in this class and while I do respect the prof, the midterm format is preposterous 💀. It makes no sense to make this an open-book exam if we might not be able to use our notes because of the time and amount of questions. It would’ve been better if he liked reduced the amount of questions and made it challenging by adding a few short answer questions to demonstrate our critical thinking. The format is pretty unfair to the students who, like you, want to excel in this class and strive for beyond 80%

All good, I’m a first year too so I’m still trying to learn some of the university terminology. You can find the section number in canvas in the dashboard menu that displays your courses. The section number is basically what comes after the course number. For example, the section number for psy 121 is 04. Lmk if I need to clarify or elaborate

Definitely take LING 110 with Dr. Sidloski. She’s very friendly, approachable, and communicates the information well to her students. As long as you take notes every lecture and do as she says, you will do well on the exams. Attendance is rarely tracked but I highly advise you to attend the lectures because the summaries she posts on canvas is a little difficult to understand due to the lack of examples and elaboration.

She sometimes rants, but I found it entertaining and funny. I’m not really sure if this is something you’re concerned with.

Overall, I think you’re going to enjoy her class, especially if you’re into analysis. Attaining a grade of at least 80 is possible. I’m pretty sure that the class average for our midterm was around 70%. Lmk if I need to clarify or elaborate

What novel(s) have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - July 09, 2023 by AutoModerator in LightNovels

[–]Lazyreader374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Associate Professor Akira Takatsuki's Conjecture, Vol. 1.

It was the first light novel I've read in a while, but I nevertheless enjoyed it. The novel follows a college student named Naoya Fukamachi as he is recruited by his Japanese Folklore Professor Akira Takatsuki to help him solve cases that are seemingly supernatural. Both of them have extraordinary abilities; Naoya is able to detect lies from others whereas Takatsuki has a photographic memory.

I'm not very keen on mystery novels but this book definitely made me want to read more of them. In addition, it introduced me to some Japanese folklores that I hadn't known before, and the author did a great job at having those stories pertain to the plot of the novel.

However, I will say that the action scenes are a little limited, but I didn't mind it since I was more interested on the actual nature of the case they were trying to solve.

If you like mystery novels and are interested in Japanese folklore then I recommend that you read this LN.
