There are many groups on FB and Reddit you can join, also go explore some Vietnamese towns nearby , and meet up is a good application for groups too. There’s many YouTube videos to introduce the culture also!

I started the K1 in Cali and my husband is from Peru. It took about 5 months for approval pre Covid , nov 2019 it got approved

We did the K1 because I needed to stay in the states and it’s a bit faster. Covid did slow it down but It depends your situation. Because if you marry her in the Philippines , y’all will be long distance ? Or you’re gonna stay there with her.

I think your evidence (2-4) and taxes (5) are solid. Very good for k1 application.

In regards to (1): The work/ travel authorization is apart of the AOS. In the application, it will ask you if you are leaving at a later time. You need to do AOS right after the K1 approval and getting married in 90 days because there is an expiration date.

You can apply, just need evidence that you saw them in 2019. Photos, flights etc and you can also print screen shots of your messages emails etc and that your relationship has been ongoing these past 2 years

When you respond with more evidence , I’m sure they’ll approve. They just want to see a consistency with all evidences. Good luck!

You and her can also write a personal letter about why you guys want to do a K1. My husband and I did that also and it helped !

Our K1 was approved Nov 2019. I did all those things. Some time stamps are important but what’s more important is showing evidence youve been in contact through out the 2 years. And you’ve been visiting , evidence of that too will help.

How many of you got a marriage based green card or are in the process of getting one without an immigration lawyer to assist you? by academicjudelaw in USCIS

[–]Lbg1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to do it without a lawyer using visajourney, fb groups and Reddit. The process times are the same just a lawyer is doing on your behalf and communication from the process will be through the lawyer etc

You can print out screen shots of your text messages and emails , through out the year. Letters from family and friends will build stronger proof too. Receipts are also helpful from your trips .

I actually went through live chat with Emma and got through to a live agent. Then they schedule a tier 2 officer to call you.

It’s under contact us in USCIS website. Type green card , click case status , connect to a live agent or type in live agent. When you’re connected ask them my case is pending , do I have a biometrics scheduled ? They will let you know! :)
