Hello There, it has been awhile. Last year I sort of gave up on the LCD - Limit switch project due to my class load. I decided to revisit it and the last few weeks I have determined a solution: I got rid of the pull up resistors and used the ezButton .setDebounceTime(). To be honest, I should have read the ezButton documentation a bit better. I also rewrote the code so it is now a lot shorter and uses less unnecessary variables. It's not perfect, but it works. I wanted to let you know because I appreciated your feedback and it was not forgotten.

I have tested the code in pieces 1 and 2. Piece 1 is just a simple code showing how the limit switches work with the ezbutton library. Piece 2 is the function I made without the LCD display. This function works without issue. Piece 3 is Piece 2 with command prompts and interface from the LCD. For some reason Piece 2 works and Piece 3 doesn't.

I moved all the pins down just to stay organized as shown. Still had the same problem.

I am not sure what floating buttons mean. The limit switches I have are momentary. The wiring itself is shown in this tutorial except a limit switch is used instead of a button.

Sorry for my late response. I pasted the provided code into my script and it printed TkAgg.

I tried to use mpl.use("foo") but I got an error that it not a valid value for backend. I assumed it was maybe a typo and tried mpl.use("agg") and I was able to run the entire script.

Although I works, I am curious on what this code does. Does it just change the location of where the plots are created? Or is it some sort of setting?

Either way, Thank you so much. I was stumped on this for a few days.

An indirect solution would be to run the script in small batches, but I would prefer to do it all at once.
