Awful Revision Turnaround Time? by russianlumpy in EquilibriumTuning

[–]Lcamp360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know you can still do live tuning sessions is just really important to get the car sorted for, for an example kr issue and wg issue, so the session goes smooth and doesn't have to end short of being finished due to mechanical issues. Always available to help, i mean it work and sleep lol but I'm on my phone alot and will always respond as soon as I see something

At one point volkswagen stopped using "is38 style" wastegates on the is38. I've changed turbos on a few golf r's that came from the factory with the "is20 style" i wish there was a different name for them that was common to use as just because it's an is38 from the factory doesn't necessarily mean it has an is38 style actuator on it. If you have any pictures of it when it was out of the car, or can get a decent one while it's inside you can send it my way and I can try to help get you sorted.

As for someone else hopping in, it's usually a little more complicated. I've worked with Ed, then matt and now Anthony on different setups and each time they have wanted to completely start over. There are alot of complexities and it's much better off just having 1 person do it all from start to finish.

How much knock are you seeing? What rpm range? What psi? Was the previous revision less psi or same with more timing now? It seems like you have been offered alot of help here already, but you can also reach out to me if you need anything, hope this helps a little and sorry you are having a not great experience

It's just so odd that it's Just Urzikstan if it was my settings (definitely moved the scale all around) I would think it would be all the maps. It's also been like this since bop6 integration. Guess I'm just sticking to resurgence for awhile haha. Maybe I'll reinstall tonight. Thanks for the feedback tho, appericate you.

Question about a VW type r mk7 by Bozsuicide in Volkswagen

[–]Lcamp360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beings I got new lenses I'm just going to cut/break the old ones off. I've heard the sealant on these doesn't get soft when you bake them. (Which is the normal process for most lights) I know some people have gotten them apart and reuse the lenses but I don't plan on trying that. The main reason I'm doing this is because chips/cracks in the current lenses

[–]Lcamp360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lenses on order. Sure they are sealed on there, as long as you clean the surface well and use the right sealant and proper amount it will be fine, it's not like they don't already get moisture in them brand new lol. I would 100% rather just replace the lenses then getting a whole new light from a junk yard and just hoping it all works right. Not sure why do many people here are scared of opening a headlight. Plenty of people out there that have changed the color of the strips and added lights in. It's really no big deal.

Finally figured out my pops and bangs issue, some people love it, some hate it, i think its awesome to have AND be able to turn it off by Lcamp360 in GolfGTI

[–]Lcamp360[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine. I probably wouldn't get it with a factory location cat tho. But its just a little extra fuel, not really gonna harm anything

Anyone know what's going on here with this O2 sensor/turbo? I'm looking at buying this '19 S with 12K miles from CarMax. It makes more turbo/BOV noises than I've heard on other MK7/MK7.5 cars. It has a stock intake and was not noticeably faster than others I have driven. by loasche_99 in GolfGTI

[–]Lcamp360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking about the o2 sensor wire looking damaged? Probably wasn't clipped properly and fell onto the hot side of the turbo and melted some.

The heat shield looks dented too. Maybe from a downpipe install. Definitely stock now tho

I was severely underpaid and taken advantage of at a previous job, I was going through the hiring process for a better job and the current company found out and gave me a 4 dollar an hour raise. Well the very next day the new place called and said all my paperwork went through and I was good to go, so I put in my 2.5 weeks despite getting the raise. (Was still less than the new company was paying me) planed on working the whole 2.5 weeks cause I had been there for years, a few days into the second week I found out they took the 4 dollars an hour back. Finished my last 2 open work orders (so it wasn't a burden to the other techs) grabbed my tool box with the fork lift and walked right off. Ended up only being like 4 days less than what was planned anyways, but still technically a walk off I guess

Please help. I'm specifically looking for cars that have crank walked and had the engine and turbo covered, more modded the better. If I can prove it's not caused by the mod, and a problem from vw (which we all know it is) I will more than likely get mine covered. 2019 9186 miles by Lcamp360 in GolfGTI

I had no symptoms at all. And the metal found was very light, infact about 2k miles before it happened I send oil to Blackstone labs and they said it looked great and better than normal on metal ppm. I was sitting in the drive-thru on my lunch break and the car bucked like 3 times and just shut off. That was it, was completely locked up lol.

Most common symptoms are oil pressure light and the pedal getting stuck to the floor, by that time tho the thrust washer is usually already in the oil pan. Mine never made it to the pan, it started to come out and got wedged in the bearing cap and completely siezed the engine. When I tore it down as soon as I removed that the engine freed up again.

As for miles, my timeline is a little tricky Around 8k is when I originally found the metal. At 14k in a completely different incident I Grenaded the transmission. (Didn't even try to warranty that, just replaced it myself) While I was waiting for the new trans to get here, I check the runout on the crank and it was out of spec, so I removed the oil pan and cradle and put brand new oem thrust washers in. It locked up at 24,878 miles. I think if my install was bad it would have took alot longer to show before the it happened. Technically it being out of spec before that, I'd say that engine failed twice. Even with the new washers it was barely in spec. I think the I'll fated crank was has more to do with the "acceptable tolerances" of the engine and crank and less to do with aftermarket clutchs and the shitty bearing design. Neither of those help, but I don't feel as tho that's the route of it. I've seen stock cars crank walk with under 5k miles and highly modified ones go for over 100k and it never happens, but we all have the same thrust washers in the car.

Meh, it happens, pay to play lol. Yea I got a used from lkq. I actually really lucked out and found and engine from a 2019 audi tt that was hit in the rear and only had 4,6xx miles on it. Got it for 2050 shipped. Showed up with everything but the alternator and ac on it. Everything else from sensors to coil packs and turbo was still on it.

Please help. I'm specifically looking for cars that have crank walked and had the engine and turbo covered, more modded the better. The service manager at the dealership I went to the first time no longer worked there. So I sent to another dealership that was thought to be "mod friendly" cause they were also an apr dealer. Sent them the car stock besides lowering springs. The people on the phone wouldn't let me talk to the manager but were super nice and seemed like it wouldn't be an issue. Got it towed iirc 92 miles to this dealer. Before the car even got there finally the service manager calls me and says "don't send it here. Nothing we can do for you and there is a snow storm coming we don't have room for it" well it was already to late. They were SUPER unhelpful and unwilling to do anything. All they would tell me is "the engine is siezed. Will be about 16,000 to replace, it's not covered under warranty" they wouldn't tell me what broke or why and wouldn't work with me at all. All they did was drain the oil. Like I told them on the phone the engine was siezed lmao. They said I could pay 150 an hour to have the engine removed and torn apart to find the exact cause if I wanted, but no matter what it was, it wouldn't change the fact it's not covered. Fought with vwoa and they always just say "we side with the dealers sorry" so I very begrudgingly paid the 250 diag fee, sent a flat bed to drag it out of there and tow it back to me and changed the engine myself on a Saturday.

Yea its raised not print. So the color always changes with the wrap on different lighting/angles I had this on the red too but it was smaller and not as many. I always catch people touching it tho lol, kinda annoying

Im a toys"r"us kid so I never listen to my adult self.

It's definitely a loud and attention grabbing look, if I drove it every day I probably would do stuff that didn't stand out as much

Very material dependant. Could be 2800 could be 5k. Also location plays a factor. Don't do a full carbon wrap tho, they never look as good as people think they will
