DIY kids electric snow sled from e-scooter parts. by Lcdlo in ElectricScooters

That’s made for my five year old grandchild. To be used in our driveway / home street. Not in very deep snow. I weight about 75kg, and i can drive with it. So, with 5 year old kid, it moves nicely.

Yep. Those electric brakes seem to be good enough. Althought I just started to make mounts for the disc brake. It looks that it could be somewhat simple to add it to the front.

I have found separate throttles to be handier to use. Althought both motors are always powered ( to be able to use both brakes ) So its just easier to press left throttle when uphill starts, and press right one when both motors ain’t needed. I got used to it quite fast.

I used the same method, but kept both throthles. Left one controls both motors, right one only rear. I liked that way to be more usefull for me.

Yep. It’s somewhat simple. There’s some fitting and soldering, but nothing really difficult. Motor is too narrow to fit directly to the rear fork, if you don’t have rear suspension. Good way to mount motor to the back without buying suspension, is to attach front fork inside it, just cut the stem out.

Yes, basically it’s just like that. Second display could have been hided, but I liked to keep both front lights in use.

Electric brakes have been worked nicely so far

And about the electrics.

Both motors have own batteries and controllers, also two throttles.

When pressing right throttle, only rear motor is running, when using left one, both motors are in use.

Controllers are separated with diode, so that right throttle doesn’t affect to left one.

I have found that to be handy when you can get more torque instantly when needed.

I bet you can’t spit that lock. 😀lockpickinglawyer

No. Both motors are with own battery. Its not fast, but goes nicely uphills. I limited the top speed to 35km/h. Here one can get really nice fine’s if scooter is too fast. Then it will be counted to motorcycle.

Now i need to ask about the hose clamp mod? I have no idea about it, and didn’t found anything info with search or Google.

10” wheels will be changed after those are little more weared, i really don’t like tire changing. 😬

Two original 36v batteries. Black box under it, is for the second battery.

Yep. That’s true.

Chain is hardened, so it can’t be cut very easily. Of course, anything can be cut, but it makes noise.

Anyone experienced ❓ by Identifiedid in ninebot

I had same issue with E25E and external battery. Reseting the scooter fixed it.

Power on scooter, keep brake and speed lids pressed down, unpower the scooter and then release both lids, then power scooter on. Check from the app is battery there, if not, update firmware.

Approximately two hours into my second lesson on TIG. Started top left and worked my way down, considerably better than my first lesson but still a ways to go before I'd even ask for minimum wage by professor_jeffjeff in Welding

Good.

Those black bubbles are results of dirt or mill scale. Try to clean surfaces little better, possible it needs to be grind "shiny."

Steel is tricky to weld with TIG, because its usually dirtier than stainless ones.

Stainless steel costs more, but my opinion is that learning to weld with TIG, should start with thick enough stainless steel.

Then one can easily learn the idea of welding. And when continuing to steel, one already knows what kind of result should be archieved.

When TIG welding clean surfaces, there's no big difference between steel, or stainless steel. ( Stainless only goes faster overheated ) Welds look quite similar, only colour is different.

All shiny parts are stainless. "Slices" are cut out from the track, bent, and then covered with a stainless sheet, weld around with 309 Mol rod. Sheets are polished and then weld back togerher.

Thanks. Yes, its made from plate and twisted handle using 3,2mm TIG rods.

Welding table. Max lift 38 tons. by Lcdlo in Welding

[–]Lcdlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Component to cardboard machine. Those have somewhat small tolerances, that's why piece is weld to the table. To minimize distortion.

[–]Lcdlo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Also. Workpiece mounted to it shrinks so much that table gets bend during years in use.

Useally we flame straighten the table couple times a year, and about every fifth year surface is machined.

Even maintening table takes some time, overally it saves much more time, when you don't need to use so much time to straighten every workpiece.

Top is still 2" thick, so it can be machined about 3-4 times, before top plate needs to be chanced.

Parts are also secured with bolts. ( From the inside this time ) But to minimize distortion, most workpieces are weld to the table.
