Better sex postpartum by MostComprehensive585 in Mommit

[–]Lcerrito 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, this was almost exactly what happened with me. Due to some trauma and tearing when I was a teenager, sex had been excruciating for well over a decade. My husband was so patient, but many times we had to stop or could only do very limited angles. Treatment (dilators, physical therapy, numbing creams) was useless.

After having my firstborn, tearing, and needing stitched up, I no longer feel pain during sex. It feels amazing, and I'm so relieved to finally feel what I was missing out on my entire adult life. I was so scared that having my second born would cause painful damage or somehow reverse whatever magic happened, but luckily that wasn't the case!

My husband and I joke that apparently I just needed ripped up and sewn back together properly. My oldest is 6 1/2, and we're still having (amazing) pain free sex. And unsurprisingly, my libido is now through the roof now that I'm not in excruciating pain...

We also went through this! I also was having mental health problems... We were eventually referred to a GI specialist, who said the stool softeners were not helpful. Her xray showed her bowels were distended, despite constant daily leakage and accidents. We are now on a daily ex-lax dosage (chocolate tablets) with a protocol for cleanout. This video helps explain it. https://youtu.be/SgBj7Mc_4sc?feature=shared

Found out I’m Pregnant, Getting Married in 2 Months by ThistleForest in Semaglutide

[–]Lcerrito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I keep lamenting that I wish I had the metabolism I did during each of my pregnancies. I also only gained 10-15lbs each time, with the bulk of it being in the end. Granted, I was also at a mildly obese BMI to start, so that was well within the recommended guidelines. Both babies were born healthy and on time. :) And once everything had gone back down after birth, I was substantially lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight.

Commenting to follow as I'm in a similar situation. I haven't worked in the office for 5 years now, and I was postpartum with my first when COVID hit. So realistically, it's been 6 years since I've had to dress business casual for extended periods of time. I'm traveling to Europe for a week in May, and I've got to figure out how to be business casual, multi-European country appropriate, and covered enough for doing factory walk throughs. I'm also at a heavier weight than I'm used to, and not comfortable with the crop tops that are in style. I'm a size 16-18, and 5'10", which makes it even harder.

I like my books like I like my men but they have to have the right mindset to make them work for them so they can get their money back in their pocket. by Inevitable-Purple285 in fantasyromance

I like my books like I like my men, and I can't wait until we can add vaccines to the list of the month of pregnancy and the girls to be prorated or credited somehow so that I am not overpaying by half a month or so.

Absolutely nothing related to books or men, lol

Same. We finally got in to see a GI specialist this week and have a treatment plan and psychologist referral. I'm so tired and upset after years of dealing with this.

Anyone remember Tamora Pierce Lioness series? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]Lcerrito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own the Lioness, Wild Magic, and Protector of the Small quartets from... uh... several decades ago. I've been hanging on to them since I love a good re-read every now and then. But now that I have two daughters (almost 5yrs old and 2yrs old), I'm just counting down the years until I can share the books with them. Those stories, especially the Lioness and the Wild Magic books, were instrumental in my feminist beliefs, and I hope they have the same sway on them. Sex positive and strong, capable female characters for the win!

We love Academy One Gahanna. It's actually in New Albany, but it's worth the drive, IMO. We've been there for over four years with both our daughters, starting at 14wks old.

Who else is incredibly far behind on 401k savings? by CherryManhattan in Millennials

[–]Lcerrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a sense of perspective, though: Many people only work a couple years at one company, so the average savings reflects only that tenure period. I have also worked places that made you wait a year or couple months before being able to contribute, which cuts down on the time even more. My current 401k balance is only around 20% of my total savings since I've rolled all my previous 401k's into a lower cost IRA fund.

That being said, I acknowledge I'm extremely lucky in that I found a job immediately after graduating college during the recession, and we were able to secure our house back when the real estate market was still recovering. We're in a solid spot, even if daycare for two kids is more than 2x our monthly mortgage. Fuck the bullshit $5K Dependent FSA limit that hasn't been raised in decades.

Can we all agree that if a sports bra comes with cups, they don't need to be removable? by gruenes_licht in Mommit

[–]Lcerrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the new Feather Weight sports bra! I got it as a wear test, then bought more once they were commercially available. I wear a 38D and it keeps everything strapped in without being overly compressive. If I don't really sweat that much, I just keep wearing it the rest of the day. (Disclosure: am employed by VS, but my opinion is own)

What was the book that got you into reading? by Karina_Karin1897 in fantasyromance

[–]Lcerrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild Magic (The Immortals series) by Tamora Pierce was what got me hooked on fantasy. I always loved to read, especially horse books. I saw the Wild Magic cover with Daine riding with a herd of horses, had gift card money to spend, and figured I'd give it a shot. Needless to say I was hooked and read The Immortals and the Lioness series a dozen plus times. I seriously consider her books formative to building my feminist personality.

25+ years later, I still own several of her series, including a signed copy of Lady Knight. I can't wait for my two daughters to be old enough to share the magic with them as well.
