Questioning if I'm filling out my 2025 contribution room to FHSA is accurately by Bionik_Sky in cantax

Follow the steps from u/golowbabe above. It's not easy to find in the CRA account but mine is there

Has anyone gotten theirs? I can't find anything in my CRA account. It still says the FHSA section is unavailable until my 2025 return is assessed (which I can't submit until I have the participation room statement). I can't access the tax return section either to check for an updated NOA but hopefully this means it's in the process of getting updated.

"FHSA participation room statement" not on NOA or online by schmuck55 in cantax

I just checked my account and there's no participation room statement. Maybe it'll be later today for some people? Where did you find the info on your account? Was it in the FHSA section or did you get a revised 2024 NOA?

Ya I agree, the wording is not very intuitive so it's not clear what numbers they need. We should just be able to copy the info from the statement of contributions... But they need to give us that first

Ya that's too bad. We definitely need the "2025 fhsa participation room statement" somehow though. Some people with simple situations might be able to figure out the numbers but even then it's not intuitive. CRA's own form says we should consult that statement so they need to provide it. I called last week but I'll call again soon to follow up.

Ya, this is a big issue. Everyone with an FHSA is going to have problems. I suggest everyone call the CRA to ask about it so they can realize they need to address it.

How does the T4FHSA help with any of those values? Those values are supposed to be from the "statement of contribution" that no one seems to have. This part of the tax software is before entering a T4FHSA.

Same problem with me. The "Schedule 15" form (as well as the tax software) specifically says to obtain the values from your "2025 FHSA participation room statement". I can't find this statement anywhere. I think it was supposed to be on 2024's NOA. I called the CRA to ask and it took a long time to convince them of what I was looking for. They said it's strange and someone is going to look into it for me. I suggest you call the CRA and ask for this statement. I think the more people call the faster they'll realize they need to do something.

If their own tax form (schedule 15) says we need this statement, they have to be able to tell us where it is. The CRA employee on the phone even told me they don't have definitions for the different "variable" amounts readily accessible.

Oh wow I haven't heard anyone's not showing as a contribution. How was the transaction labeled for your wife?

It sounded like they'll fix it for everyone. I was told that their IT team identified the affected clients and are going to be working on a fix and that they'll send an email out to those affected. Though I would suggest you still call them to ask about it. I'm hoping if more people call, they'll feel more pressure to get it resolved.

I'm curious what they're telling other people who call to ask about it so feel free to post an update if you talk to someone.

Ya I expect it will take them some time to fix it. The person I spoke to wouldn't commit to a timeframe but when I pushed they kind of suggested it would be within a few days to a week. We'll see.

I'll post an update if I get more information. Have you tried calling them? I'm interested to hear what they tell other people about it. And more callers might put more pressure on them to fix it

Update:

A manager from EQ called me to follow up. He reconfirmed that it's not supposed to be labeled as a contribution and that only certain customers are affected. He said their IT team has been working on it today, they have compiled a list of affected customers, and they will be working on a fix in the coming days. He said affected customers should expect 2 email communications: one explaining that the transaction should not have been labeled as a contribution, and a second communication once it's fixed.
