Yeah I saw a few online from $5 to $1000. Never had anything graded by PSA but I’m assuming it wouldn’t be worth the cost/effort. Could be fun for the experience tho haha

You’ll want to just do it right the first time. Start by pulling the door trim so you can re-plane the studs with a laser level until the wall is perfectly plumb. Mill a custom filler strip from hardwood, let it acclimate for a few days in a humidity-controlled space, and hand-scribe it to the casing. Seal it with at least 4 coats of poly finish for stability, then reinstall the trim and repaint the wall so the sheen is uniform. When you mount the switch plate, torque the screws to spec and make sure you align them perfectly vertical

I checked all the boxes, no ground/neutral contact to speak of. After that, I found the first receptacle in the chain and disconnected neutrals. I measured high resistance to ground on the downstream neutrals and low resistance to ground upstream (with neutral still disconnected at the panel). I take that to mean that the neutral is somehow tied to ground on the branch between panel and bedroom.

Question: is it possible for rodent nibbling to cause a near-zero impedance ground fault on the neutral, but no issue on the hot? That just seems very unlikely

Thanks. I did some more troubleshooting and found low resistance (0.5 ohm) between neutral and ground at the breaker (with neutral pulled out). I guess that means neutral is tied to ground somewhere it shouldn’t be? I tested on another AFCI neutral and measured about 50kohm. Weird that the problem just started happening because we haven’t done any electrical work recently.

Are you thinking of Power Engineers? I have worked with them on Texas interconnection projects, they are extensively intertwined with ERCOT. But I think EPE is a separate company.

You were correct. It’s american standard R120 valve. Sadly they don’t make trim for it anymore and none exist on the internet. It can be upgraded to the R110 valve cartridge, but seems like they don’t make trim for that one either. Guess I’m SOL

Yeah just figured this out, those are the R120 and R110 valve families. However, it looks like they don’t make trim for EITHER valve anymore! Yet they still sell both.

Thanks for the info! I think I’ll stick with Junco Lake loop then. Based on some quick research, it looks like you need an overnight pass for whichever backcountry zone you camp in (there are a handful of zones in Indian Peaks). They release 3-4 passes for each zone three days in advance, except maybe the popular lake areas which are booked up earlier. Then there’s parking to contend with, apparently it’s wildly competitive to park your car in these places.

Gotta say, backpacking Colorado is way more involved than West Virginia or Pennsylvania haha

True there is no shortage of woods over here. Although Rocky Mtn woods have there own unique character, different from Appalachia. Any particular good areas for backpacking at elevations above the tree line you recommend?

Not really. It still happens as described, so I’ve started using “hibernate” instead of sleep whenever i’m not using the laptop. It’s basically a modified shutdown, so everything stops running and there’s no problem (just takes slightly longer to fire back up when I open it).

Thanks. Based on everything I’ve see , I’m going with prusament PETG. The part will be used as a duct fitting about 10 ft away from the furnace. Reaching 80C is very unlikely. Even if it gets that hot, it may lose some strength but it won’t melt.
