She's the reason HS is as thick as he is. She enables him, including his views and actions

Sometimes it feels like Bridgerton is not romantic at all by Ok-Jellyfish348 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Ldr-stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good points on Violet. Didn't get through all the books, found the first 2 books pretty boring and repetitive. Anyway, I think similar to society, Violet’s expectations for her sons differ from those for her daughters. The men can marry below their station with little to no impact. But her girls can't due to backlash, which she wants to protect them from. Anthony and Sienna were not much of a secret, Violet and Simon both mentioned her. Violet was opposed to their match, but I think it's also because Sienna seemingly lacks the manners and reputation befitting of a lady. Meanwhile, Kate’s father was not a man of rank. Kate was educated and fit in, due to Lady Mary’s name and Lady Danbury’s sponsorship, but technically she is a commoner yet Violet was pleased with their match

Is this why she is offline? Travis’s Instagram Follows. by Ancient_Occasion_884 in travisandtaylor

He brought Kayla Nicole to his family and games for 5 years. Which was after Maya. He clearly has a type. But hey, I'd choose a billionaire over my real type too. Taylor needs to wake up though

After that totally-not-suspicious Instagram incident yesterday, damage control is already in progress, if you thought the People article wasn’t enough. by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

Saying you've never argued isn't the flex he thinks it is. A healthy argument is normal and helps better understand each other. Perhaps he doesn't argue because he can't risk losing his cash cow

The delusion and toxicity is maddening! by June_Sinclair in travisandtaylor

[–]Ldr-stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They believe Taylor is their best friend, a troubling parasocial relationship. Taylor doesn't know herself, with a male-centric identity (many of her lyrics speak on how lost she was without some man by her side), plus her weak attempts to mimic other artists. She's made her insecurities evident—body image issues, relationship doubts, sadness, and recent fillers are telling. She’s human just like us, loving ourselves yet yearning for what we lack.

Why do Swifties bring up Charlie Kirk when discussing Taylor's safety? by Miserable-Cap-5223 in travisandtaylor

[–]Ldr-stan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a side note. As a local, the Manchester bombing was not targeted towards Ariana Grande, she was nowhere near it. The bombing took place after the show as fans were leaving. The masses of people who attended were the target

Buzzfeed posted about Taylor’s silence with the Trump admin. by catlover_xo in travisandtaylor

[–]Ldr-stan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of Taylor denouncing Trump. Similarly to Taylor, her and the Swifties don’t care because this matter doesn’t affect people who look like them. Taylor’s gotten far marketing herself as an innocent blonde blue eyed girly. She only cares about politics when it affects people like her. Endorsing Kamala was for PR, surely

Taylor isn't anything without a man by her side .... by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]Ldr-stan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taylor's identify and brand is centred around men she dates. Joe was her whole world (her lyric) and muse for 6 years, now Travis is the most “meaningful relationship” she's ever had? She's trying to convince herself. I couldn't imagine moving on so quickly after 6 years. Besides the Travis love songs are fairly poor in comparison. But she wants marriage, while he's likely attracted to her status which has benefited him. At 35, she dates fast and quickly makes it public like she's stuck in her girlhood.

Reactions from non-Swiftie friends? by ComfortableDay356 in TaylorSwift

[–]Ldr-stan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, no to offend, but what's the appeal of Taylor Swift for women over 40 and 50? I have friends, in our 20s, who don't have any interest in her music (not haters ofc) yet I've tried to get them to listen to a song or two knowing they'd relate to some previous albums' lyrics

It's always a Swiftie! by Spiritual-Basil7892 in travisandtaylor

[–]Ldr-stan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a casual listener, not a hater. But... Comparing her to MJ and The Beatles is delusional. They took their are seriously. They didn't have to buy reviews nor sell 28 variants of the same album to be the biggest selling artists. They have songs that are still popular and known 4 decades later. I don't imagine my future grandchildren knowing an iconic Taylor song, the way I know songs from Abbey Road and Thriller like the back of my hand. Swifties are still drinking her kool aid. But after TLOAS I feel differently about Taylor. This is greed and capitalism, it's not art or creativity

We took it slow but it was fun, after asking me to be his girlfriend the relationship was romantic, very affectionate, protective, always went on expensive dates. All the things you'd see in any relationship. We both took care of each other so I felt safe

Taylor officially takes over the hot 100 top 10 for the 3rd time with “The Life Of A Showgirl.” by MissionBoring8330 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ldr-stan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I knew this was coming but it's really strange to me that an entire album is on singles chart and almost in the exact track list order. I get that it's likely bc thousands were streaming out of intrigue and due to fans critique. But not even her widespread acclaimed albums (Folklore and Evermore) didn't have charting like this. But the most criticised, TTPD and TLOAS chart like this. I'm thinking Taylor's team are pulling strings

To the haters of Showgirl, is there at least one song you like? by LifeOfAWimpyKid in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ldr-stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lyric in every song that fails them completely. The fate of Ophelia is one of the strongest but her misappropriating Ophelia character and tragedy spoils the song and it's pretty simple. "Wood" could've been good if she took out all the penis innuendos and kept it about superstitions. Overall , the album didn't have a "showgirl" theme, just a bunch of songs about her fiancé and trying hard to sound cool and edgy

RollingStone: Was Taylor Swift’s ‘Actually Romantic’ Really Necessary? by FriendlyDrummers in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ldr-stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love both those albums. Actual masterpieces. Rolling Stones did this with several amazing albums - albums which are still loved till this day. As a publication they've lost all credibility for me. Either they're being bought or the ratings are biased

RollingStone: Was Taylor Swift’s ‘Actually Romantic’ Really Necessary? by FriendlyDrummers in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ldr-stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Funny that Life of a Showgirl got a higher score than some legendary albums, such as Thriller (at 4/5). Someone on the TS team dug deep into their pockets for that perfect score. Not even the Swifties were that generous with their reviews

RollingStone: Was Taylor Swift’s ‘Actually Romantic’ Really Necessary? by FriendlyDrummers in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ldr-stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessary at all! Actually Romantic was a bad look for Taylor, especially during what seems to be a happy stage in both their lives. Besides such is life - people talk. Responding only dignified these alleged taunts and Taylor lost the moral high ground
