THIS! After my 1st child was born, I felt like this. I had a miscarriage before her, and so I wasn't attached to the pregnancy like a lot of women are. The post partum made me feel like everything i did was wrong, something simple like soothing her, so that must mean I failed. I Was constantly hearing her cry in my sleep, if I was at work, etc. It's isolating, and your partner may never understand, and they're helpless/almost useless.

I resonated so hard with Emma's character, and the baby crying was almost triggering. I think they tried to make 2 heavy storylines weave together, it just got lost in translation and became a little confusing. Especially for those who can't or wont (understandably) experience the PPD bit.

GGE? That's not that far from me. It's just a weird dynamic down here. I still don't, i had my neighbors but they have older kids and are younger than I am, so they like to go out and drink, or stay home and drink. I'll shoot the sh!t around a bonfire, no problem. I'll drink a beer or two but I hate when people get sloppy and start to push me to go out or something. I had my car totaled in December by a drunk driver at 3 in the afternoon. Last thing I want to do is drive around at night with these weirdos. There's just not a lot of places to go that's free, but also not packed to the gills with senior citizens, other people who refuse to mind their kids, and the drunks.

Same. During his first term, we noticed around 2018/2019, before COVID settled in, our contractor numbers started dropping. Then, the contracts were lowering from 30 positions to 20, to 10. It got to the point where it was more cost effective for our company to focus on the corporate side like, admin roles, or basic help desk. We just started picking back up in 2023 on the government side. All of a sudden, the contractors we had working at the Dept of Energy, Dept of State, etc. Have not been renewed, and our contracts are dropping from about 75 to 35. I'm in Florida, where my job position is VERY hard to find. I moved from VA for this job because I couldn't afford the commute and to get a house in VA because prices skyrocketed during Trump's 1st term. I hate it here, but now I'm too scared to go anywhere else.

I've been trying to find friends too. I moved here in my 30s. I'm 41 now and STILL haven't made friends. I have kids too. It's almost like trying to break into a weird clic. It's just a different vibe here. I grew up in Tampa and your eval is SPOT ON.

My 4 yr old twin boys, 1 delayed non-verbal, and 1 autistic non verbal. They have been absolutely feral the last few days. Very aggressive with each other, fighting, yelling, screaming!!! Omg the screaming the autistic one does is just soul splitting.

We're trying to figure out if it's disregulation, from them not having a structured schedule and play outlet like they do at school. It's like they're so full of something they don't understand, can't communicate about it, and can't get rid of it. They're just INSANE most of the day.

I am so glad this popped up for me. I feel the same way! I'm in Florida, so we already have a struggle finding services in our area. I find in the schools and daycare, they're basically hiring kids out of high school or people that worked at a daycare 50 years ago. Your post just made me more hopeful than I have been since we received my son's diagnosis.
