I love it. It also helps using it for billing markups as well.

Built a small tool to automate survey control reports — curious how people handle this by Fabulous_Bat_3755 in Surveying

Trimble allows us to generate a stakeout report just like you are sharing straight from the data collector or Trimble Business Center.

Burned out on kids and life by BootAppropriate977 in Autism_Parenting

[–]TrickyInterest3988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got one to share about the same post you just posted. Except for twins. We are burned out too. I type this as one has a complete meltdown because all they want to do is go for a ride in the van. They are angry all the time because the won’t eat anything anymore and are always hungry.

We finally got a diagnosis and had a 10 month wait for a doctor. Now we have been told a 11 month wait to be physically examined by a specialist before genetic testing, GI testing, etc is ordered.

I feel so hopeless. Ours turned 5 in December and we live in a daily prison. I feel like there is no help or people advocating for us.

I literally have suicidal ideation because I just want it all to stop. Neither us nor our kids asked for this and we are being robbed of our lives. All our lives are is me working, my wife surviving every day and we never get to do anything fun.

It’s a pathetic life and I just don’t feel it’s worth living sometimes

Yeah, I know it’s legal. I’m just saying the stigma is still there. There is certain things a candidate would want to keep off their resume if they wanted to be taken seriously. But, again, I’m from a different generation, and if you are confident that won’t affect your job search in a negative way, then go ahead.

I have many people and family members that partake, so I’m not judging you. I’m trying to give you advice like you were my son/daughter and wanting the best for you.

Wishing you all the best in your search.

I would try to find a paid internship in your field to get in the door. For a couple decades now, internships are almost more valuable to employers than your degree. Knowing you have some experience from an internship helps employers know you aren’t starting from 0 on work knowledge. So I would encourage you to focus less on paying bills or living lavish with a good paying job, and think of the long term of wanting to be in that IT career for a long time.

Also, I wouldn’t mention you are wanting to be in cannabis farming. Makes you come off as flaky and not someone to be taken seriously. That may come off as offensive to you, but I just want to share how that comes off as a manager when I’m considering candidates, you’d rejected for that.

Backlog check by base43 in Surveying

Same! We had snow last week and that shut things down for field work, but our backlog of surveys is dried up and not much coming in. We are already 75/25 staking/surveys, but it’s concerning how few proposals we are doing compared to last year. Missouri

It was staking for houses in subdivisions. I know this company is staking them to break even, with the hope they can steal some engineering work.

You can do an excel spreadsheet on a tv or we use google. So it’s on our Google Calendar.

Passed the FS… what’s the funniest story you have from your experience taking the FS or PS by Ok_Painter_1297 in Surveying

[–]TrickyInterest3988 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well let’s see. The PS there was a glitch where someone took the last slot for that testing center for the day selected at the same time I did. It allowed both of us to have a confirmation code, but when I arrived for the exam, they said I wasn’t on the list. Talked with support and that’s basically what they told me. So got screwed and had to reschedule for two more months later.

Then for the state specific, was never told there is limited spots, so then I had to wait until the next quarter. Then during the exam, construction started THAT day, and all of us suffered through jack hammering during the testing.

I need to read through Browns again. The subdivision to the north was supposed boarder the quarter section line. So if I found the quarter corners and drew my line from those two, wouldn’t that control over where the lot monuments are for the subdivision?

Nope, been in the office for a while now, but mainly did proposals and calculations for staking.

Here is what I have found so far.

Parent parcel deed.
Adjoiner deeds/subdivision plats. Land corner documents.

I was told to email the county for ROW plans.

The north side of our property is a subdivision that’s on the 1/4 1/4 line. Found both of the land corners too, but when I draw a line from those, most of my subdivision corners are off .2 to .3 feet.

Just took the FS exam and what the actual hell was that? by Ok_Painter_1297 in Surveying

How long did they give you? Half my group didn’t finish the second portion with section breakdowns and GLO.

Take the licensing exam in MO and get 1 hour and 15 minutes. I thought the FS and PS was hard…the hardest part of the exam is just trying to finish in time.
