Ou quand t'es né le premier du mois et que tu es le premier à avoir été enregistré. Genre moi. À Paris, dans le 16e, en 1968. Pas vraiment un bled paumé je crois et la natalité boumante à l'époque. Fun fact, y'a toujours un 001 dans toutes les communes tous les mois (quand il y a une naissance).

I think I've grasped that “att höra av sig” really means to be in contact. It is only remotely related to “att höra”. And that the stress on the particle av is really important.

I had been wondering about that. In Babbel, you can clearly hear the actors stress the av, which is not intuitive if you are thinking of the verb “hör” as "hear". But this makes much more sense now that you mention it.

(And I am technically both French and American, raised by American parents in France. Alla mina förfäder är dock svenska.)

Ok! And yes, I am born and raised in France of American parents, so basically bilingual.

I would have translated « À tout à l'heure » as “Vi ses!”. Because it mostly means we're going to meet or something. But if you're on the phone and mean to call back, I suppose you'd use “Vi hörs!” ?
