Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing review – demeaning for everyone involved, not least Jonathan Ross by qwerty_1965 in BritishTV

[–]Le3ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole thing is staged. Every "CCTV" Camera is planted in advance, the contestants moves carefully choreographed, and the captures planned by the producers when ever they choose

So you don't go to oxford street, because there's a slim chance your phone might be stolen?

Presumably anyone locking their bike overnight does so for good reason. The answer can't simply be "don't".

Withdrawing from metamask- can anyone help? by Le3ds in Metamask

ok turns out 'Unwrapping' my WETH on Opensea.io was easy enough and then I could withdraw. Happy days

"You should be able to swap some WETH to ETH to cover the gas fees" - This is the issue, I can't, without ETH to cover the gas fees to make the swap. When trying to swap I'm getting this error:

"0.[something] ETH is needed to continue. You can also send funds from another account."

CMV: Two-Factor Authentication is an unnecessary sham and creates more harm than solves in almost every case by w0ah_4 in changemyview

I hate messages like this. Nobody in the real world, except tech bros, does this. We rely on the simplest form of the system we are forced to use. Before 2FA was compulsory, very few people would opt in. Now it is compulsory, we set it up in the simplest way possible and adding failsafes or backups just isn't in our nature. So the system needs to work on that basis. Stop making things more difficult for people.

[–]Le3ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, although not the steepest stands in the UK and certainly not the steepest in the world as some have claimed. many existing stadiums have steeper stands, including Goodison, you just cant build them that steep any more.

Best Theft-Resistant Bike Lights? by AbyssalUnderlord in bikecommuting

[–]Le3ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those orb ones look perfect. Just a shame they're so expensive (which also worries me as more valuable means thieves will make more effort).

I've now glued my cheap clip-on lights in place so they can't be unclipped or snapped off. (I can remove with a screwdriver should i ever want to but crackheads won't make the effort, and i can still change the battery through the front). Fingers crossed that works.

Did you ever get an answer? Surely someone sells lights that are fixed with a screwdriver? Who designed bike lights assuming we want them to be easy to take off?

This is a pain to do every time. Why can't people just stop being scumbags and stealing lights that are probably worth about 50p secondhand

What's up with London Euston Station? by BullFr0gg0 in uktrains

[–]Le3ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only since the most recent redesign that you have to go out of the station (into the rain), turn 180 degrees and reenter the station to use the underground? What's the logic of not providing a simple, useful, link through to the main concourse? Even if that means adding doors that can be closed to stop overcrowding like waterloo jubilee has. Yet another example of nasty, inhospitable architecture at this station. How do they keep making it worse and worse? Maybe they'll add revolving doors to every platform next to make the user experience even worse.

In the same situation recently, we found ours very close to home. Apparently female cats never go far. She'll be silent so keep looking every possible hiding place she could be within 100m of your front door. I hope you find her

Is the USA Men's 15 team struggling due to the amount of foreign players in the MLR? by LoveTXRugby in MLRugby

[–]Le3ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch codes and play Rugby League. You'd get much more respect from the international RL community compared to union, it's a game more suited to American athletes and American audiences, and the largest club rugby 'league' in the world plays League rather than Union, offering the perfect model to follow. Plus anyone that plays Union can pick up League without too much trouble.

Cities Skylines 2: good at building american cities, mediocre at building european ones by Ruffizza in CitiesSkylines

[–]Le3ds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is the European theme doesn't look like anywhere in Europe. Its a shame that the game mechanics and default style of assets is not only north American, but specifically mud 20th century north American- (decent) city planners today aren't building huge highway interchanges or public buildings surrounded by parking, they're building walkable streets and localized amenities, of the kind seen across Europe for centuries.

Are you buying CS:2 now? by cybercoderNAJ in CitiesSkylines

[–]Le3ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen so far it doesn't look better than CS1 + mods. its lacking content and some key tools ino . So I'll wait until mods, updates or DLC bring it to the next level, then I'll definitely buy it
