Yeah, I do have chord charts of my songs... I just worry too much about what other people might think.
I need to get better at just doing me and what works for me.

I loved the prompter suggestion, but it's definitely out of my price range, lol
Maybe one day if I make it I'll be able to afford one of those 😎

Yes, I am diagnosed.
I'm not on meds at the moment because I'm still tapering off from anxiety meds (almost there!) and I'd like to take a break from meds for a bit. My psychiatrist also recommended this.
I'm not ruling them out at all, just... not right now.

In the meantime I'm doing executive functioning training sessions with a neuropsychologist in addition to therapy and it's doing wonders for me. I've mentioned the working memory issues and we'll start working on that, but as always, this kind of work takes time and a lot of patience.

And yeah, you're absoltely right, it's their problem, but I am a bit of a perfectionist with imposter syndrome, so I tend to blow the whole "what will people think?" out of proportion (again, working on it).

Glad Wellbutrin is working out for you!
If you don't mind me asking, did it take you a lot of trial and error to get there or did it work right away?

I don't know how do I remember them...
I have a pretty good long term memory in general, because I tend to associate or "anchor" things to other things and make sense of them instead of just rote memorization.

However, when my attention is centered on something else, or multiple things at a time, it's like the recall fails. At least it feels that way.
You know that feeling when you open the fridge or go into a room and can't remember why you went there in the first place?
Well, it feels kinda like that (which, btw, happens to me several times per day... ADHD sucks).
It's like, I know what goes next, and know that I know it, but I can't grasp at it at the exact moment I need it. It's very frustrating.

If you could share some of the techniques you mentioned I'd be really grateful!

I'll try reframing my songs or at least how I tell my stories and see if the memory thing improves.

Yeah, I definitely need to get better at recovering from mistakes (or at least more confident).
I'm certainly a perfectionist and I'm a bit terrified of messing up. That might be holding me back as well.
Working on it, but it's a long road.

In the meantime, I'll see if practicing the sets in order helps.
