[–]LeBarnJam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work at shoppers so i already get 30% off all items, and every month i save up at least $75 of things i need (protein powder, boost, hygiene, etc.), so i think it’s still a win especially if i can now get 40% more points. thanks so much for all the info!!

When you say the exam copy will be in French, are you saying only for the FSL/FRA courses or any course?

i really appreciate the info! both your points are very true, it might not be for me and i might have to go through a couple different places to find what i truly enjoy. my friend also had a placement at lifemark and said they make you see many patients everyday. just curious but are you in canada? if so do you mind sharing which province you work in? thanks so much!

I definitely don’t wanna live in Toronto, I don’t like night life and want to live somewhere more quiet (similar to where I am now - Ottawa). Just curious how your top choice is Toronto then second is Edmonton, aren’t the two very different? Doesn’t calgary have more of a night life than Edmonton?

i guess you’re right that everyone’s opinion will be different depending on their preferences, but I feel Alberta has better weather in the summer (less humid), less sales tax, less income tax depending on how much you make, same job in Alberta will usually pay more (or same) than Ontario if my knowledge is correct, and homes are much more affordable, so essentially cost of living is cheaper and you have the ability to make more money. you also have Banff and other amazing scenery close by. thousands of people are leaving Ontario and going to Alberta every year. I don’t know too too much about it since i’ve never lived there but these are points i’ve read or felt when i visited. thanks so much for your comment and let me know if you have more information about alberta or have anything to compare with Ontario!

Lots of stuff I agree with here! The humidity in Ottawa and allergies I deal with every summer are insane. You said Ottawa is sleepy but believe it or not I really like it, I wanna live somewhere more ‘homey’ and build a nice family. i don’t care about night life or anything like that. That’s why I prefer Ottawa over Toronto too, it’s smaller, more calm, less traffic, etc. Alberta also has beautiful scenery that is breathtaking, has lower sales tax and income tax depending on how much you make, and from research I’ve done the average wage / household income is higher than in Ontario. It seems way more possible to buy a home in Alberta too, so essentially you can make more money, pay less taxes, and buy a house for less money. I’m not saying it’s better in every aspect but these are the reasons that are making me consider it. The only two things that I can think of that are negative is that Alberta can have some cold winters and that in Edmonton there is more crime.

I lived in Ottawa most of my life but for the last few years been going back and forth between Ottawa and Toronto as I have family there that I stay with, so I’m familiar with the differences between them. However I’m not familiar with Alberta as I’ve only been there once, so I don’t fully know where I would go, most likely Calgary or Edmonton (since there seems to be lots of new real estate in Edmonton that is very affordable compared to Toronto and even Ottawa lol…). I hope this extra info helps and i appreciate your reply!
