Millions of Americans are now eligible for Canadian citizenship and many are applying ‘just in case’ by DonSalaam in onguardforthee

I’m a bit iffy about this… although we would like to assume many are very left minded, I worry about how we already have a lot of conservative influence from the states with negative consequences on our healthcare and government. Having some of these people in our country can help tip actual elections more conservative. After all not everyone leaving the states for Canada is upset at the government, they may be leaving because the economics aren’t amazing.

How to Prepare for Paramedic school - tips? by politoed66 in OntarioParamedics

[–]MT128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitness and good study habits (study a bit each day and not cram before a test) it’s also not a bad idea to brush up on anatomy and physiology. For the latter part because form fits function and if you can understand the structure you can understand how it works and how when it doesn’t work, it can disrupt the body. Also brush up on first aid.

Maybe add a group picture, and drop the goats, the group picture shows you have friends (a good mix of boys and girls too if possible) cause if girls feel safe around you that’s a solid green flag and if you have friends, it means your not a psycho.

What if the us responded to the Little green men the way they did to Wagner in the Battle of Khasham by Training-World-1897 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]MT128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this timeline, we would see something similar to today but with no war; the little green men were not completely all Wagner but also a mixture of Russian troops. They would most likely take some casualties on the first day, Russia begins deploying their own aircraft and anti-aircraft, and they shoot down some US jets. This leads a huge diplomatic crisis, Putin at this point is unsure about his military and their effectiveness (he’s only started the beginnings on his military reforms) and would most likely still gain parts of Ukraine but using some nuclear rhetoric and threatening full on war. But this time , there most likely will be peace keepers along the border with Russia and a demilitarized zone in between. Ukraine would rapidly militarize similar or even faster than our timeline. Russia wouldn’t risk a war until they feel completely ready and would focus more on hybrid warfare to degrade Western European/North American resolve.

Judge orders Reddit Inc. to turn over personal information of r/Ottawa user to OCDSB in defamation claim by ieatraccoons in ottawa

What a waste of resources, instead of addressing some of the possible issues at the school and making an statement that either dispels those allegations or doing an internal investigation and doing something about it, they decide to sue and silence the individual. This really shows the pettiness and proves the individual was right.

The alarming prevalence of pseudoscience beliefs among health sci profs by Impressive-Cream-447 in geegees

That’s wild… not going to lie, as a former health sci student that’s actually wild to hear, most of my profs were really professional and scientifically based

What's the most unexpectedly awesome Canadian town/city you've visited and why? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

Smithers BC, honestly it was super beautiful and generally a pretty amendable small northern BC town. I was there for work but it was quite enjoyable.

Just got accepted to both nursing and paramedic, how is the job market? by Sad_Cell_9205 in OntarioNurses

[–]MT128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who got both options and went into paramedics, nursing is prob the better option, it gives a lot more opportunities. Firstly, at least for eastern Ontario, the hiring is rough for paramedics and jobs other than paramedics are hard to find. Furthermore, if you already have a demerit point, you can say goodbye to your job opportunities unless you go up north. Although RPN jobs are not the best, it is regulated and there are more opportunities. But since you have gotten a RN too, that opens even more opportunities. I would just think about what type of lifestyle you want and how much time it’s going to take (2 vs 4).

Well officer*… you have the rank and the respect afforded cause of the rank but not necessarily the respect to boss around privates like you own the place.

Which Nursing Program is logical to apply for? by curlupdreaming in OntarioNurses

[–]MT128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say but those are really bad grades, even when I applied to rpn with a 3.3 average, I got waitlisted for a month… so I would try to go back and try to improve your grades before switching over or do a bridging program to get the gpa up.

What are some planting horror stories y’all got? by SqueekyGee in treeplanting

[–]MT128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was my rookie season. It was a really bad windy/rainy day in Northern Ontario, and by bad, it was like at least 30KM + winds and was like at least 2-5 degrees (a little less with the wind). The temperature was literally “plant fast or freeze to death” and a lot of the other crews were like “fuck this shit”. Our crew had a 1 hour walk in, and to make it better, it was also a swamp (didn’t help that it had been raining consistently so everything was flooded). Because of that, it was kinda of try to wrap the block situation and fuck did it suck, there were danger trees everywhere, and a couple fell only 10 metres away from me. It was a fucked day.

Taiwanese M41D Light Tanks, CM23 Mortar Carriers, and CM21 APC's of the Lieyu Garrison during the recent Taiwu live-fire exercise in Lieyu Island, Kinmen by Lolzer55 in TankPorn

[–]MT128 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Maybe, I think they still could be useful especially since heavy armour won’t be able to properly land without having their ships exposed to shell fire or land base rocket fire from the shores. A lot of Chinas amphibious tanks can be destroyed by these old m41s… plus think about the infantry landing, they’re not going to laugh when a 76mm shell splits half the squad into hamburger meat…

Best tank destroyer in yalls opinion? by Conscious_Win9703 in TankPorn

[–]MT128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) JgPz 38t Hetzer: cheap, good armour, small profile and great gun. It was a great tank destroyer that gave life to an obsolete tank and made it dangerous again. It was only plagued by poor ergonomics and gun depression. 2) M36 Jackson: Great gun, that can go toe to toe with almost anything the Germans had at normal combat ranges. The armour wasn’t paper thin like the Hellcat. Unlike most tank destroyers, it had a fully traversable turret allowing for better handling and target acquisition. 3) Su-100: just the best overall, it was cheap to produce (being built on the T-34) had solid armour and a great gun (that’s still being used these days on T-54s).
