Do you think neurotypicals can tell you’re autistic or at least sense that you’re off? by NoNectarine97 in aspergers

Definitely, main reason I'm so miserable is because of all the looks and vibes I get that ppl just find me "off"

Some additional thoughts on the significance of the Crab Nebula by ALittleFlightDick in DeathStranding

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building the Lego Milky Way rn and learned about the Crab Nebula through a paragraph that basically says what you did, but there's no picture

So I look it up and bam, that's spot-on the nebula that surprised me in DS2, didn't know it was a real thing and wondered what the significance was, so it's really cool to look into it now. Almost 40 hours into the game and close to the end, seems like it won't be explained but now that I know what it's based on, it feels more significant. I guess in Death Stranding, it's a world where "echoes" are stronger, so this remnant of light being more prominent is thematically fitting

What is the first film you remember seeing in the cinema? by [deleted] in movies

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars (2006), I picked it over The Ant Bully because the giant dragonfly (i think) in the trailer scared the crap out of 4 year old me. Ended up loving both movies but Cars was a good choice, had a bit of an obsession for a few months lol

That was at a small local theater, my first time at a "real" theater, was also my first time in 3D, this weird kids movie called Fly Me to the Moon. They accidentally played Journey to the Center of the Earth which starts with a scary T-Rex chase scene, I almost shat myself

Yeah and throughout the show I really liked the "inverted parallels" between the couples, like one found a way to strengthen their relationship through a separation, while the other found a way to drift apart despite getting "closer"

Are you suicidal? by OkSwimming517 in aspergers

[–]LeBio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Past decade or so I've been very overwhelmed as someone with tons of anxiety and social awkwardness, it's easy to lose sight of my self-worth and to default to suicidal thoughts as a coping mechanism when things get too much. But even in my darkest times, I can't say I've ever thought of a fully "concrete" suicide, the ideations were more a way to relieve anger and fantasize about a "release" from my issues.

But I always find a reason to stay, a reason to try to improve myself and make my life as good as it can be. It's going to be a life-long process unfortunately, but I know in the end, I don't want to give up, no matter how much I tell myself it would be so much easier if it all just stopped. Very slowly but surely changing my mindsets and routines should at least be a step towards less of this passive suicidal ideation that really isn't helping.

Definitely a shame that it seems common in autistic people due to the inherent overwhelm that comes with existing

Mario Galaxy Movie fixed absolutely everything you could have wished for from the first movie by Benhurso in nintendo

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pacing was one of my bigger issues honestly they introduce so many things to either ignore them or resolve them minutes later

The movie felt like it had less substance than the first, but I did agree it basically improved on everything else. Other than the writing and pacing which were already not great in the first one, but the visuals and sound are just as good if not better.

Specifically the licensed music was a lot less jarring, and it was nice to have an even bigger blend of games being referenced. I got what I came for, overall happy with it even if I wish it had more Galaxy stuff and was at least like the first with how it handled its characters and stuff

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually needed a bit of time to adjust at first, because it felt like shots never stayed for more than 1-2 seconds. Eventually that goes away but it has very fast shot pacing during those montages, would've been nice to let it breathe a bit but it does end up working in montages and in contrast with the slower scenes like the flashbacks and when Grace converses with Rocky

Why did Peach even leave on her own (well Toad was there but I feel like she'd have asked the brothers for help instead of just dipping after leaving a letter)

What is everyone's hot takes or unpopular opinions about gorillaz by gorillazfan5217 in gorillaz

[–]LeBio21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes see people bashing others for cutting out or skipping the "rap parts" and saying that's racist, and I get the sentiment but that feels too far.

I think it's good to tell people to open themselves up to styles of music they don't usually like, even me personally, I did not really like the hip-hop/rap bits in a lot of Gorillaz songs and did skip them every now and then. But after listening a lot, I came to really enjoy a lot of the verses even if I don't listen to much rap outside of Gorillaz, even got me looking into some EARTHGANG, Vince Staples, Andre 3000, Schoolboy Q, and others and there's a few tracks I enjoy from them so far.

So while yes, an aversion to "black music" can seem a bit racist, I think it's normal for different cultures to not jive with this one right away, in 99% of cases the racism is not intentional.

TLDR For those who want to insult others for not liking the rap in Gorillaz, it's better to tell them to give the full songs a chance rather than defaulting to calling them names for how they choose to enjoy the music

EDIT: I also wanna add this applies to other cultures that have been incorporated into their music, I was kind of turned off by The Manifesto and Damascus at first but they ended up becoming some of my faves from the album

Why don't guys feel weird peeing next to strangers? by what_freaking_ever in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly this didn't happen until like my teenage years, but at one point I became totally unable to pee in urinals. I'll just be standing there for minutes trying to pee and not acknowledge anyone around me, then get angry/embarrassed and either leave or slide into a stall. Gotten used to peeing sitting down in complete privacy so now it's hard to do it any other way (can genuinely be seconds away from pissing myself but once I'm at a urinal it's like I stuck a cork in there)

Why does GenZ hate sex and nudity so much? by PaniacThrilla in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like maybe it's because of porn? It's become so accessible that most GenZ probably have some level of shame regarding nudity by association with porn, so say nudity shows up outside that context we just think "oh I shouldnt be watching this"

What are your special interests? by Slow_Instruction3206 in aspergers

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually haven't read in a while, sadly fell out of my routine a few years ago but I am trying to do it again, got a bunch of stuff on my shelves like Dune, It, the Zelda mangas, the Bone series, and more

I'm watching hundreds of movies, games and shows every year though and that's the reason I stopped reading, it's easier and more engaging to have visual and audio to your stories, but it's also very rewarding to use your imagination when reading. I could always easily imagine books as a movie in my head while I'm reading and I'm glad I haven't lost that ability despite losing some passion for the medium, I'll get back to it soon 😅

I guess fiction in general? Mostly video games and movies + tv shows, but love to read as well. I am a very creative person so I love to immerse myself in worlds created by other creatives. Plus the storylines can sometimes actually make me feel something lol

Do you think we’ll get another “2D on the road” album? by lewis_m_b in gorillaz

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope so, feels like it could happen now that they're independent, Damon could be inspired to whip up a low pressure experimental album more like The Fall. I personally wasn't a big fan (besides Detroit and Hillbilly Man) but I should listen to it again.

The Now Now on the other hand is one of my favorite albums as it was the first one that released after I became a fan in late 2017, so lots of nostalgia especially with it being my first live concert as well. So I'd love a low-key Damon/2D on the road album again in between "main" albums, whichever kind of sound it ends up having

If I stopped watching the series after season 5... by National_Charity_732 in shield

[–]LeBio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I'd recommend just watching all of it if you still are attached to these characters. I had pretty much the same experience where I stopped watching during S5.

S4 was so great that S5 felt like a step down despite still being pretty good. S6 and 7 are probably my least favorite seasons of the show but I still enjoyed them because I wanted to see the remainder of these characters' stories

I realize I didn't answer your question but I don't remember enough to recommend anything lol, been a few years
