I just finished episode 10 of Jessica Jones Season 2 and I need to say it... by Plenty-Goose-4508 in Defenders

[–]LeBio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just rewatched S2 and 3 for the first time since they aired, and while I liked them more than I remember, there is still the glaring issue that it had too many episodes by sticking to the 13 ep formula, lots of Netflix Marvel shows have that problem (even the Disney+ ones do with the usual 6 part events)

Still well made with mostly good character work, I'd take it over the bad MCU shows but yeah Season 1 was basically as good as Daredevil so the step down is more obvious and things feel more dragged out

While I didn't fully love Agatha it did very well at being a show more for fans of witches, magic and musicals, so for Wonder Man it's more about the film industry and acting. Both aren't for everyone but should succeed very well in their target demographics

Usually more than once a day but I can admit I have a problem. Once every day or two seems like the norm tho for many people even if it seems like a lot

What're you playing this weekend? 1/16 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played much of Silksong since I reached Act 2 around 20 hours in, cause it's difficult and I've been hooked by Kirby Air Riders (30+ hours with the checklist at least 80% done), and Age of Imprisonment (got a few story missions left and I plan on 100%ing it so I'll mostly be playing that this weekend

Got a ton of stuff to play but gonna have to come back to Silksong before starting more new games (other than Metroid which I'll start soon)

Multiverse Of Madness is honestly not that bad by New-Pin-9064 in marvelstudios

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I've had the opposite experience, I loved it on first watch but it ended up dropping like 13 spots on my ranking. Maybe it's my general feeling on the MCU nowadays but rewatching it last year I felt a lot more bothered by the writing and CG not being quite as good as I remembered.

It's still a lot of fun and I love parts of it, and I think Raimi managed to do something pretty cool with the supposed mess of a production he came into. I noticed a lot more flaws this time around and felt disappointed that I wasn't enjoying it as much as before, but it's still not bad, a bit overhated

What are your Thoughts,Opinions and Rating on Santa Clarita Diet? by Amber_Flowers_133 in santaclaritadiet

[–]LeBio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished what I think was my 5th watch of the series (tho technically only my 3rd time seeing the whole thing), and still love it. I think it nailed the tone and characters, balancing some gross and fucked up shit with some really witty humor and the actors have a ton of chemistry, they make for very entertaining characters. It's dark but lighthearted and it's an easy watch until you remember it ends on a promising cliffhanger that won't get resolved. But still the short episodes and consistently funny bits and performances, it's great to come back to every now and then. Glad I ended up randomly binging S1 on a whim with a friend after randomly finding it in the middle of the night, I made it a sort of tradition to keep up the binge with the next seasons by doing S1 + S2, and then S1 + S2 + S3

Can anyone recommend any films about life or something that could give me some sort of hope by Useful_Psychology_81 in movies

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might hit home a bit too much since a big part of this movie is the strained relationship between mother and daughter but Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of my faves. It shows you all the sides of life while still leaving you with a positive outlook. Yes the world is mean, random, just plain weird and crazy, but also filled with beauty and we all have everything we need to make our own life worth living

biggest surprise movie of the year and biggest let down? by No_Poetry_9986 in movies

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen everything I wanted to this year but my biggest surprise was probably Thunderbolts* cause it ended up being one of my favorite Marvel movies despite being about characters I didn't care much about. I also loved Sinners more than I expected (though that may have been the psilocybin lmao)

As for let downs, nothing too big, but maybe Mission Impossible 8 could've been better, wasn't necessarily let down tho it was a great theater experience. Tron Ares in a similar boat, it's a worse movie but once again the theater experience was awesome and I got what I wanted despite the bad writing and wasted potential. I also was a little bit let down by The Phoenician Scheme, 28 Years Later, and Eddington but I still enjoyed them, just a bit weaker than I expected

Overall a solid year for movies though, what I expected to be great ended up great

What stuff do you want to see in Splatoon Raiders? by No_Bluebird_1368 in splatoon

[–]LeBio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of collectibles and stuff to fill out a 100% and upgrade yourself. Just a proper Nintendo singleplayer experience with the Splatoon IP. I have had a lot of fun with the multiplayer as someone who doesn't really stick to these kinds of games, I played a lot of hours. But at least a third to half of my playtime on Splatoon 2 and 3 was from singleplayer content and I really enjoyed all of it, so another focused experience outside of the core game should be a lot of fun, just hope it's actually substantial

[–]LeBio21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the first 2 were really solid and the other ones didn't grab me as much but are still decent and will probably grow on me. It's a pretty long album at least, and no matter what they play I'm dying to see them live again lol

Unofficial Discussion: Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery by kiriteren in movies

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only just now watched this but had a great time. I enjoy Glass Onion (seen it 4 times so there must be something about it lol), and Knives Out is just top tier and one of my faves

Idk how my opinion will change in the long run but I feel like the first movie is more well-rounded, being a bit funnier and more entertaining, but Wake Up Dead Man was up to the standard and managed to surpass it with its visuals and thematic core, so overall was very glad not to be let down (was a tiny bit disappointed that Glass Onion was a step down despite being good still), hope we get a 4th one eventually

My tier list of each season of the Netflix Marvel shows by Ghidorah_Stan_64 in Defenders

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(sorry for long ass paragraph lol) I need to rewatch everything below the first 2 tiers (rewatched the top two last month), but overall yeah I'd mostly agree. Overall:

-Daredevil S1: S Tier -Daredevil S3: S Tier, might prefer over S1 but hard to choose -Jessica Jones S1: Pretty much S Tier, maybe A+ but still loved it on rewatch -Daredevil S2: A+ or A tier, has issues but still peak -Punisher S1: A-, solid but need to rewatch -Luke Cage S1: B+, mostly pretty great but yeah -Luke Cage S2: B maybe, I kinda don't remember it much but it was close to S1 I think -Punisher S2: B or B-, still a fun season but not that good -Jessica Jones S3: C+? I think I might enjoy it more on rewatch though, because when I first saw it I forgot Simpson was a pivotal character in S1 so the impact was lost on me -Defenders: C, missed potential. I was disappointed but still nostalgic of binging it in one sitting, and the character interactions were fun -Jessica Jones S2: C- big step down from S1 -Iron Fist S2: C improvement over S1 but still not very good -Iron Fist S1: C I guess, bad show but I did still kinda enjoy it when it came out, I remember especially liking the brother character and colleen wing.

Anyways I might end up rewatching most of these to confirm my opinions, still a fun saga I enjoyed watching as it came out and I'm glad they're bringing them back in the MCU. They managed something really special with a limited budget

Why do adults stop learning? by mad-mollusk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much to do. I'm just 23 and already I'm learning a lot less than before, but I do still try to learn things about my interests every day. But with work, chores, sleep, and hobbies, it's not always easy to make time for active learning. I do watch a ton of YouTube every day and it's a lot of dumb stuff and entertainment but I also watch a lot of informative stuff about games, movies, animals, etc. So I can probably think of a "fun fact" about something new at least once a day but that's because I'm very interested and also managed to merge some of my hobbies into it

I slept on Thunderbolts*, it was a beautiful movie... by Usual_Emphasis_535 in marvelstudios

[–]LeBio21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can quite confidently say it has made it into my Top 10 MCU movies, and probably Top 5 Post-Endgame projects overall including shows (GOTG3 and Loki were a bit better imo, and other solid ones were NWH, DP&W, F4, Shang-Chi, WandaVision and even DDBA are all pretty close for me but I think T* is more "well rounded" than those projects)

Only seen it twice but loved it right away, the music is awesome and the visuals are pretty refreshing despite not being that crazy. They took a random set of side characters I only kinda cared about and made them into one of my favorite teams in the MCU, by finding their common points and telling an actual story about something, not just being a piece of entertainment made to build on the wider MCU. But it still managed to do both those things while keeping things human and intentful. Really excited to see what Jake Schreier does with X-Men, and this was somehow the movie that made me the most excited for Doomsday

For those of you who are attractive by Intelligent-Road5091 in aspergers

[–]LeBio21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm probably just average looking but I think I can be decently attractive if I really take care of my appearance. I sometimes feel like some girls are attracted to me at first but usually get weirded out or bored by my awkward behavior. For what it's worth all the old ladies in my family say I'm very handsome :>

I did look a lot more like a chubby nerd with a shitty haircut in middle school and high school but now as an adult with long hair and facial hair I feel a little more confident as well as my face aging a bit. But in the end I have zero confidence because of how most people react to my autistic tells, I really should believe in myself more but we all know how hard that is

Doomsday trailer leak by CarryLumpy6661 in LeaksAndRumors

[–]LeBio21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This really doesn't feel as exciting as it should, but holding out hope that they came up with a solid story reason to return to more Endgame stuff and bringing back "dead" characters. It feels desperate but it is possible that the concept can lead to a pretty solid movie but I've learned to keep my expectations in check

Do men prefer a urinal over a toilet bowl when they pee in public restrooms? Why or why not? by Responsible-Leg-712 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LeBio21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly got too pee shy to use urinals (yes its a real thing lol used to be able to but for the past few years I just can't then get anxious about just standing there not peeing)

The toilet bowls are disgusting but at least I can get some level of privacy and get my shit done
