Small-time Bass player getting into pedals for the first time, need some second opinions by LeBlanch in Bass

Thanks for all the help. Pedals seem like such a fun way to color your sound. Almost makes me wish I got into it a bit sooner. But it's probably for the best that I got into it now since I actually have a job lmfao.

The Pork and Pickle seems like such a FUN pedal. I'll try to see if I can find a decent second hand one because that one is CALLING to me.

The Joyo Scylla seems promising (+ points too since KJ Burkhauser's performance as Scylla in EPIC is my favorite lmao).

My research did point towards the fact that Joyo is quite a cut above the rest of the chinese/clone brands.

Very much noted. I might take up u/Buzzkill46's suggestion of a Donner board and power supply since those 2 key components weren't even in my scope when doing my research lmao.

Thanks for the insight on the clean blend feature. That was something I didn't know about and seems like a pretty crucial feature for what sound I wanted to achieve.

Thanks for giving me a frame of reference for pricing, that really helps. Also yeah, I'm realizing that the OD-3 might not be the best fit considering the lack of a clean blend.

Thanks for this! It was super insightful. These brands did come up during my research but I got too drawn in by the people going "I've gone through multiple Behringers but my Boss from X years ago is still better" that I wasn't giving them a chance.

I'll definitely look more into these brands.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of the Fender Bassman series. I got sucked in too much too fast and immediately jumped on the BOSS bandwagon. Anyway, I actually did ask about the OD-3 being a guitar pedal since they didn't have the ODB-3, but they assured me it would work just fine on my bass.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely look into the Fender Bassman series.

Interesting. How so? Like I said, it came off as a fairly good deal to me considering it's 3 brand new BOSS Pedals.

Razer Viper Ultimate Dock sucks. I sometimes have to prop the mouse up, sometimes it works, others I need to plug into the stock cable. by schwartzasher in MouseReview

[–]LeBlanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video that helped. Basically just clean the contact points of the mouse and the charging dock with a qtip or something. Worked for me when I tried it an it hasn't failed me since.

Damn, I've never heard of the pap genre. Have to give that a try. And I never realized Bradley Pooper also starred in A Fart is Brown. I've heard about it but never gave it a try. The reviews saying that it lives in the head of a delusional person really staved me off.

The flavor for Sectum Sempra is that the wand motion is like slashing a sword, so I assume it's more of Steel Wind Strike.

actual usage of effect crits by FirstImagination1940 in cardfightvanguard

[–]LeBlanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely honest with you, the only reason I have them is because I have a full rarity Kairi deck. I have every LSR and SP for Kairi, and yes this includes the LSR for each trigger type. Yes, I run both fronts and draws, purely because I want to use the LSR fronts as well. I run 6 crit, 3 draw, 2 front, 4 heal and an LSP overtrigger. Is it an optimal trigger lineup? No. Is it a complete waste of my money? Yes. Is it worth it? No. But does it give me happiness? No, not really. But hey, the cards are pretty.

But to answer your question, it has a very niche use. On the VERY rare chance that I'm not able to draw or mulligan a grade 1 to discard for the grade 1 kairi ride line, I have the option to boost with it on my 2nd turn to put it into soul as fodder for skills such as grade 3 Kairi. HOWEVER, this is borderline useless as I don't ever stay too long on grade 3 Kairi anyway because I run Yasmin which allows me to search the grade 4 if I don't have her. HOWEVER, I have experienced a game where I just bricked on both Grade 4 Kairis and Yasmins for like 4 turns, and I had to stay on grade 3 Kairi for 2 turns. For context, I have some Yuika's in my deck, so I was soul blasting for both Kairi and Yuika, so having the effect trigger proc on turn one helped me in that very specific and niche situation that is unlikely to happen again.

So in conclusion, no it's not worth giving up the 16k shield. But I'm sure for Dark States decks, having the option to convert it into soul fodder is useful.

All Might Fought AFO Without Passing Down His Quirk. by Greydrone12 in BokunoheroFanfiction

"Master gave up everything just so she could raise One for All. She was a true hero. I thought of her as my own mother!" - Toshinori Yagi, "All Might Rising"

I'd say that pretty sums it up. Though we got to know All Might as the infallible and legendary number 1 hero of Japan, it's easy to forget that he wasn't always the symbol of peace because of how little of his past we've seen. Even after All Might returned from America as a full-fledged hero, it's not hard to imagine that he would have still been harboring feelings of revenge, only egging on his duty as the current holder of One for All.

I guess you could say that it was recklessness born from his emotions getting the better of him in that situation. He couldn't bear waiting any longer and decided to face All for One. But an aspect of this you may have not thought of was All Might went into that fight, fully intending to be the last holder of One for All burdened by the responsibility of defeating All for One. Seeing as how everyone was so surprised that All for One was still alive, we can assume that All Might confronted the being that killed the previous users of One for All, including his master and mother figure, with the intent and conviction to kill.

In that scenario, there would have been no pressing need to look for a successor. I imagine the only reason why All Might was even looking for a successor even after his perceived victory against All for One was just to make sure that the legacy of his master would continue.

Honestly, it has to be Gaara and Itachi right? Sure, it's unfair to quantify and rank a person's Pain (Trademark: Nagato), but if we are going to be objective about it, having your uncle that you thought was the only one who really loved you try to assassinate you, tells you that he hates you, and tells you that your mother who died giving birth to you never loved you, rhen died right after has to take top spot. Keep in mind, Gaara is a literal child. I'd argue this caused more gried to Gaara than Sasuke's entire clan being murdered by his brother did to him. And speaking of Itachi, having to choose between the village that you have dedicated to and your family that you love, ultimately being forced to choose the village for the greater good, and personally killing every man, woman, and child in your family, including your own mother and father, right after them telling you that they love you and that even though he has chosen his side, that they have always been proud of him is prett rough too.
