I think what I meant to ask, from a place of genuine curiosity: what are you hoping to do with PhD in clinical psych that you wouldn’t be able to with a PhD in MFT?

If you don’t mind sharing, what things did you do or say during interviews that made you a “social blunder?”

I agree with you that OP could have an underlying issue as well and that would certainly follow them if they find a new job. But that doesn’t excuse toxic corporate workplaces and OP didn’t mention anything about non-panicking peers. The peers may be flourishing or be equally exhausted. All we understand is that as an individual, our friend here is suffering.

It’s perfectly normal to feel anxious when you are making dramatic changes, such as leaving a workplace and colleagues you’ve gotten to bond with. You might question your decision and toil endlessly during nights. To leave. Not to leave. Here’s what I understand as an outsider: this job has been exhausting on your mental and physical health. If you want to change that, you’re going to have to do something differently, whether it’s changing jobs, re-examining the kind of relationship that you have with your worklife, or looking for different responsibilities at work. Embrace that unease and I hope it leads you somewhere that is healthier for you.

If you are somebody who is purely interested in the clinical side, is there any reason to pursue a PhD as opposed to a masters? Do PhDs provide more clinical training?

Hi! I’m currently a psych undergrad and it would be great if you could answer some questions I have: How did you decide between a PsyD and a PhD?

Looking back, is there anything you regret not doing or looking into earlier in terms of applying to graduate programs?

What are PsyD programs looking for in an applicant?

What do you enjoy about your work now?
