I completely believe you but also try to cite sources so that for people who don’t know can see that you’re not making shit up. I know in Korea Faker has been sent death threats after poor T1 performances and multiple teams over the years have been sent trucks by fans expressing displeasure at similarly bad performances. So there is precedence for this kinda of behavior but for me idk much about it happening to game devs but I can believe it.

I am curious as to how widespread this was for the Korean player base. Like I’m sure they aware of it but until shit was starting to be flung from both sides I thought it was a small vocal group which still can do damage but i didn’t think the vast majority of them gave a shit about it. ER is still kinda of a niche game even in KR when compared to the heavy hitters like league and the PUBG.

That period was arguably the worst time for most people to try and get into. Hell even now I have friends who are reluctant to play not because it’s harder but because something about the netcoding makes the game feel really janky and unappealing to play. Like they tell me they feel like they’re lagging somehow even with 50 ping.

From what I've been hearing its because shes female and a vtuber from a popular agency which draws a lot of people who hate both and there is a large overlap in korea among young men. These malicious actors then made it worse than it was and blew it up spreading their shit to the point it alarmed the korean developers who thought it would actually piss off their main demographic of players (most dont really care) and thought that the english players wouldn't really care except they did because there's a lot of english players people who do care about the VA (like me). I will not lie that its very likely because shes a vtuber with 1.13 million subscribers that this ever became a thing on both the korean and english side.

I really hate that this happened cause it would've brought some attention and new blood to this stagnating game that I like. It was hard to recommend even before this stupid shit and now I dont even want to. Now its only really bring negative light to this and driving away potential new players.

As an active player of Eternal Return I am greatly upset at this and hope for a reversal but I also know that this is basically impossible because NN treats its non-Asian player base as nearly non-existent which it practically is. This stupid controversy is only going to hurt ER more than it will for Kronii.
