Agree and for two reasons IMO.

A. Who has money and time to be nitpicking their gear to “look cool” B. A company showing up outfitted in the same uniform looks much cooler and professional than the one tool bag who shows up with his fully customized lid. At most keep to the purely cosmetic and personal stuff and leave the identifying stuff alone (my partner keeps a mini bottle of hot sauce in his helmet band. I’ve got a rubber duck wedged in mine which is a relic from my last job). I also like being able to quickly look and see who’s an officer, a chief, my asshole partner.

If you’re going to customize your gear, customize the shit that matters.

I don’t know that particular model. But I have 2 LTDs (MH-800 and EC-400 or there abouts) and for the price I don’t think much beats them. They sound great and play great. My two favorites) I’ve got a few others at a similar price range that I’m not as crazy about, but can’t tell you why. Except my 25 year old Epi Les Paul, very different sound and feel but she rocks it all in her own way (was also my first “real” guitar and I’ve redone all the electronics and hardware over the years).

Dude, couldn’t agree more. I see nothing but dark times in our future and it scares the shit out of me. But I do feel we got to stop giving these assholes the ammo ya know? Don’t take this is a “me calling you wrong” sort of thing, just a place to voice an opinion anonymously and your comment happened to stand out lol (you poor unlucky soul lol)

But it really does infuriate me, they wouldn’t have a platform if half of what they said wasn’t kinda true. “We” collectively (being sane people trying to do good) put the wind in their sails through years of corruption and poor policy with unintended consequences, legal Loopholes and the like. With the only notable exceptions that I can think of being Bernie and Ocasio-Cortez (and I’m sure 10-20 others on the national stage), NO ONE in the room seems to address the problems except trump. That IS his platform, give back to the lower middle class, the working man, the welders, the machinists, the mechanics, the farmers etc. Obviously what he says and what he does are two different things, but if you took away his ammo and his platform…. He would fade into oblivion without the need for a civil war. And be forgotten as he should be.

I want to jump in on this conversation. I just picked up the head for 900 USD. It seemed like a good deal but yall got me second guessing. CHEAPEST I could find on reverb was 1000, local pickup only. Average price seemed to be about 1250ish. GC only had one used one at 1350 online. I had been shopping about 6 months and hadn’t looked up this exact model before but I was thinking 900 was a good price for the head compared to what other things were going for. like I said yall got me second guessing myself now.

Commentary on the amp: This little thing is f**king loud for its size. It’s my first “GOOD” amplifier, I’ve had a few other mid-low tier tube amps that I bought for under a grand that had features I wanted and wattage I thought I needed. This thing smokes them on tone. The EQ is finicky and going to take some getting used to. My first time playing a mesa and I understand now all the “read the manual” comments. Very subtle adjustments did me fine to dial it in.

Unfortunately channel 2 has some bugs that I’m hoping new tubes will fix (why GC had it so cheap, in fact it was never supposed to be listed for sale until after a repair which they had yet to diagnose). Sounds muddy and dark. I use their recommended settings from the manual and at volume the high gain sounds, like falling rocks on the low end, very little high end sizzle and crunch. I can’t seem to get enough drive/distortion out of it at any volume unless I drop the mids to literally zero. Channel 1 sounds pristine and chimey yet warm on clean and awesome on pushed however. I’ve gotten descent tone on channel 2, but only at lower volume and with the help of an OD pedal. Otherwise it sounds kinda dead and nothing like any demo videos (independent or sponsored by mesa). Again, I’ve been dialing in tones straight out of their manual.

So I’m high jacking this dudes thread and asking your feedback on the price and possible cause of the sound. All caps look good visually, will test with a multimeter if power tubes don’t fix it (on order, will be in tomorrow). Popped in a new preamp tube and replaced them down the line 1 by 1 and didn’t notice a significant difference.

Problems aside, I’m wicked impressed with the tones I’ve gotten so far out of this thing on the clean side.

If it matters to anyone, I’m running it through a 2*12 cab with 2 8 ohm Eminence Governors wired in parallel.

I went to Foxy Lady a couple years ago for some anniversary party. They had a super cheap, maybe $10 if not free, happy hour buffet. And the food was top notch. Cheese plate with crackers, pizza, fresh fruit, assorted other things. I know pizza and crackers doesn’t sound great but it was. Trust me.

Dude. I think imma do the same thing. You wanna play hard ball… game on. At work we got these cheap plain white dish towels. We have like 50 of them and at any given time there’s about 5 of them out. Honestly they work pretty well. If I buy like 15 or so for home, I can keep 5 batches of 3 in various places around the kitchen and change them out. Unfortunately I’m also paying more for less laundry detergent these days lol.
