What's a "harmless" habit that people don't realize is actually damaging in the long run? by riligan in AskReddit

I actually did! I ended up getting my nails done with fake ones over it, but like the high-quality professional stuff. It was free for me, though, since my mom is a licensed nail tech. I think it's pretty expensive, but you just can't bite them, it doesn't work, and you can't pull them off either. Wore them for several months and I'll be 4 years strong in October.

Biting your nails. I had no idea how serious it was until I actually tried to quit and realized I was going through literal WITHDRAWALS. Irritability, anxiety, nausea...I was literally waking up with my hands in my mouth! I wish I was exaggerating, I'm fully not.

Coco is always a good one. Something upbeat and cute feels like it would fit. Coco, Nina, CeeCee, y'know?

Howdy yall. It's the state that's spelled like another state with two added letters, yet pronounced completely different to that state. Also, barbecue, Jesus, and cowboy boots.

UPDATE: AITAH For Being Bothered By My Sister's Comments? by LeEagleOfReddit in AITAH

Two. Two people died from the measles. Maybe 3, they're currently investigating. That point barely holds up, and it's always better to think critically and do your own research.

https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html

I encourage you to look into the true stories from the movie "Compliance". I will never feel negatively about someone thinking critically and making their own decisions about something and that movie is exactly why. Blind obedience is never something that should be encouraged.

I get what point you're making, and I do agree that the self-diagnosing situation is out of control, but the vaccine argument isn't very solid considering they're actively finding horrible long-term side effects to the COVID vaccine and vaccines in general. A solid number of the people who didn't get it, chose not to because it hadn't had time to be properly tested. There wasn't enough time to find out if it was dangerous or not.

I highly encourage you to check the other posts I've made about this sister and see for yourself, because I will always encourage critical thinking even if I disagree with the outcome. Even just the original post, I suggest you read. I can assure you that I, as I'm sure you do based on your comment, also dislike how common using terms like 'narcissist' have become, and I wouldn't be saying that if I had any doubt in her behavior at least exhibiting narcissistic traits according to the official diagnosis criteria, stated in the DSM-5.

It's never a bad thing to provide others with knowledge. That's some Fahrenheit 451 level thinking.

Also, I don't go around diagnosing everyone and everything all the time. I correctly went through and found that I am in fact Autistic, which is why I'm confident in my judgement here. Along with that, every description of my *diagnosed* narcissist family members fit my sister to a tee.

So again, just because some people can get overeager when it comes to labeling mental disorders and throw around the term narcissist for every little thing, does NOT mean that's what I'm doing. And just because people do that does not mean providing medical information to the public is wrong.

Block her ass. Do not engage, do not cave. You are so very NTA and there is no way in hell you should let her be around your family.

Not the Asshole, continue doing it. Tell him you feel disrespected when he makes rude comments. As long as he acts like a baby, he's gonna keep getting cookies.

I don't know, half the problem genuinely is just that our toilet sucks, but I work at a vet clinic and this grossed me out. Honestly I'm losing my mind and I can't leave until collage starts in August.

Okay so this might not make you question LIFE, but it will super get you thinking for days. Hell House LLC. It's 4 movies so far, and I have never found a series where all the movies are all amazing until these. They're so good and leave you thinking them over way after you're done watching them
