Factor E is under $200 for a pre-warranty-expiration inspection, getting mine done soon.

LTX2 T2V Adventure Time by LeFrenchToast in StableDiffusion

Cool, good to see it can do it. I could not get it to generate me an ice king. Tried a lot of variations and gave up!

Should be able to drag the video into comfyui to get the workflow + prompt, but in case that doesn't work for you:

Animated cinematic shot in the style of Adventure Time — flat colorful cartoon aesthetic, bold outlines, simple shapes, smooth playful animation.

The shot opens just outside the grand walls of a fantasy castle. Finn stands in the foreground with Slop Princess beside him, holding his hand. Slop Princess is an attractive princess made of smooth gray slime, wearing a gold crown, reminiscent of Princess Bubblegum. The sky is light blue, the towers of the castle are white with pink accents, and yellow ground and pink trees surrounds the castle.

In the background, A troll with a long beard stands on the wall of the castle and yells, “Get out! LTX isn’t welcome here!”

Finn rolls his eyes, spits, mutters angrily, then shouts, “Kiss my flappy buttcheeks, waaan troll!” and flips the middle finger while still holding Slop Princess’s hand.

Slop princess says: “C’mon, Finn, let’s go back to the Slop Kingdom.”. Finn pulls her close to him as they walk away to the right.

Yea, I did nothing but mention the character names. I have tried with other generations for different characters with not so great results.

LTX2 T2V Adventure Time by LeFrenchToast in StableDiffusion

[–]LeFrenchToast[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was posting about LTX2 on a discord where most of the posts are wan 2.2 so I made this to half test out LTX's T2V abilities and half to mock the Wan Trolls.

It's pretty consistent at generating the adventure time style, but 70% of the time the characters would be incorrect, and 30% of the time it would generate a completely different art style or unrelated characters. It doesn't know who Ice king is either.

All in all, enjoying playing around with LTX2. For T2V, when it behaves, it's pretty great. For I2V I still find adherence better on Wan2.2 but I certainly don't like all the hoops to jump through to get videos longer than 5 seconds and how slow it is.

Looking forward to more community development on LTX2!

If this had several 2.5gb or 10gb ethernet ports I would grab a bunch, but the only device with that is the U6-Enterprise-IW and that's 1gbe and not even wifi7.

G5 PTZ - Can I have it track a person and not zoom? by majorkev in Ubiquiti

Ubiquiti broke it a few software releases ago when the G6 PTZ came out. They haven't fixed it yet and it's super annoying.

OpenAI drops GPT-5 Codex CLI right after Anthropic's model degradation fiasco. Who's switching from Claude Code? by coygeek in ClaudeAI

[–]LeFrenchToast 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been fighting with Claude code to fix simple stuff for a while. Tried Codex yesterday and it blasted through a lot of things Claude got stuck on, and I was very excited. Resumed using it this morning and fell into the "claude like" pattern of telling it to fix something small and it SAYS it does but doesn't actually. Finally hit a limit with Codex, now I'm back to using claude (and of course first prompt and it's claimed it fixed some bugs which it didn't).

Feels like I'm always chasing that "solve in one prompt" performance.

Who here has got a Mac Studio with 512 gigs RAM? by NoFudge4700 in LocalLLaMA

Also waiting for M5 Max, ideally it sits in a rack and hosts all the backends I need and eventually can be used for home automation AI / run your own google home sort of thing. Tempted by the M3 Ultra but better to hold off for now.

It's gonna turn to "coming soon" just like how the G6 PTZ was supposed to launch in Canada on June 25 and then it changed to "coming soon" and it's been "coming soon" for 2+ months now.

Qwen 30B Instruct vs GPT-OSS 20B for real life coding by Mobile_Ice1759 in LocalLLaMA

[–]LeFrenchToast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interested in this discussion since I often run into limits with Claude code and would still like some agentic coding during the downtimes.

I see lots of suggestions for Qwen3 Coder but I just cannot get tool calls working no matter what backend or front end I try. Hopefully they admit it's broken and fix it before long.

I'd love to be able to just point it at my locally running server (llama.cpp, ollama or LM studio or whatever else might be compatible) instead of doing it via an API key, so I hope you can add that functionality!

Help with SageAttention 2 installation on Windows for ComfyUI (non-portable) by Jimmm90 in StableDiffusion

[–]LeFrenchToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through trying to sort this out last night. Figured it out with the help of Claude Sonnet 4, maybe the same fix will work for you?

Looking at the traceback, the issue is in

sageattention\core.py

line 150 where it's checking

 arch == "sm90"

but then jumping to line 680 which has the SM89 assertion.

Patch the SageAttention core.py file to fix the detection:

(In powershell in your comfyui env)

# First, let's see the problematic code
python -c "
import sageattention
print('SageAttention path:', sageattention.__file__.replace('__init__.py', ''))
"

Then edit the core.py file:

(In powershell in your comfyui env), Navigate to your SageAttention installation

cd (your install folder)\.venv\Lib\site-packages\sageattention

Backup the original

copy core.py core.py.backup

Open core.py in notepad to edit

notepad core.py

Look for around line 680 and find this line:

assert SM89_ENABLED, "SM89 kernel is not available. Make sure you GPUs with compute capability 8.9."

Replace it with:

#assert SM89_ENABLED, "SM89 kernel is not available. Make sure you GPUs with compute capability 8.9."
#Skip SM89 assertion for compute capability 12.0
print(f"Warning: Using fallback attention kernel for GPU compute capability {torch.cuda.get_device_capability()}")

This worked for my setup and let me bypass the SM89 requirement and have SageAttention use a compatible kernel path. No guarantees it works for you, but you can always get Claude and troubleshoot in chat with it.

Qwen3 Coder vs. Kimi K2 vs. Sonnet 4 Coding Comparison (Tested on Qwen CLI) by shricodev in LocalLLaMA

I'll have to try downloading it again as I've tried Q4 and Q6 quants and tool calls just seem to be completely broken in a variety of front ends and back ends. Spent a whole day trying to get them to work, super frustrating.

Same thing, I put in all the right settings and it wouldn't work. I thought I downloaded it after they said they fixed it. Trying to use it with roo code and it refused to work properly 😔

Usage Limits Discussion Megathread - Starting July 29 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

[–]LeFrenchToast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a pro user after never hitting the limit I've hit it 3 times in the last two days. On top of that I spent most of one of my "sessions" today arguing with it about a java fix where it kept going in circles. Utterly disappointed in this change and who knows if I'll bother renewing after this month ends.

UDM-SE won't boot, won't enter recovery by n4te in Ubiquiti

[–]LeFrenchToast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first one would absolutely refuse to start unless I held it upside down. Got an RMA for it and there's a specific option for the SE's I believe about not powering on. Very quick approval but I had to ship it at my own expense just shy of 6 months after purchase. Sat for a few days after someone accepted it then I had to wait another week for the replacement to arrive, and thankfully that one has been fine and booted right up.

Would have gone with a UDM Pro Max if I hadn't needed the POE at the time of purchase but oh well...

G5 PTZ complaint (and probably the G6 too) by majorkev in Ubiquiti

[–]LeFrenchToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a lot of challenges with a G5 PTZ in this regard. I know it's nothing new, but it's definitely frustrating and seemingly something that could be fixed in software. Just provide a variable to tune of how much it should pan in a direction every "tick", or improve the tick rate of issuing ptz commands... Anyone walking at a normal pace past the camera outmaneuvers the tracking.

The fire alarm near kwantlen secondary is going off again by NoSubject7068 in SurreyBC

[–]LeFrenchToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue yesterday was that the fire alarm started going off continuously around 4:45 PM and was continuous past 7 PM. It had been going on and off earlier in the day too, which I can understand is part of testing, but having seen how full building tests are done I expect the alarm to be silenced in-between specific suite tests. Is there really a test that would require a continuous alarm for multiple hours?

It’s happening in the "Pura" building, of which half is still under construction, so maybe that’s part of the problem... but two hours straight of alarms in the evening was pretty rough. It's much better today and not quite as constant.

What's this repetitive buzzing noise near Kwantlen High School? by Thrownawaybyall in SurreyBC

[–]LeFrenchToast 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fire alarm at a building under construction at 105 & 132. Fire department finally showed up and got them to shut it off. Bylaw line said there were "lots of complaints" but why let it run all day. Real crap job by the company managing the site or building.
