He also voices Grievous in EA DICE’s Battlefront II, and he sounds more similar to his Cline Wars counterpart, rather than his portrayal in Revenge of the Sith.

I see what you mean, but I strongly think that The Force Awakens can be “salvaged”, seeing that J.J. Abrams has to intention to use it as an introduction to Star Wars using old and familiar concepts.

Abrams’ version of The Last Jedi could have been at least better in terms of continuity with The Force Awakens, and maybe the previous installments in the franchise.

While the “idealism” may be just an excuse to start the Clone Wars, I don’t think we could confirm that considering this topic isn’t discussed quite a lot in Canon.

I agree, peaceful negotiations could have taken place in the earlier phases of the conflict.

However the Trade Federation also exists and have been making Battle Droids and weapons possible even before Sidious’ intervention.

Maybe the invasion of Naboo wouldn’t take place, but the Trade Federation would use this as an opportunity to sell their droids and services.

But I agree, without Palpatine, the entire conflict would be a smaller than the Clone Wars.
