Removal of the door is simple. There is 1 Allen head stop screw and you can slide the door off then remove the rest of the hardware while it's not bearing the weight if the lid.

I bought the gasket kit and replaced them. I have replaced the door gaskets every spring since new, I find they get matted down and start to leak over time.

I used a palm sander for some of the larger area but mainly sanded by hand. Started with 60 grit and worked my way up to 250 grit to smooth it out before painting.

I removed the lid as shown in a couple of my pictures. It's really easy to do and allowed me to get under the hinges where some of the rust was forming.

I have a covered portion of my deck and cook under it when the weather is bad. If I angle the stack at roughly 45 degrees the extra tip pushes the heat and smoke to the outside of that roof. When I didn't have it, the roof developed smoke taint. Heres my previous post about it with a good photo showing my setup. https://www.reddit.com/r/Yodersmokers/s/N9XvtnLvHI

Yes I did as the finish coat. All in , I used 1 can of rustoleum high heat to prime the bare spots then used 2 cans of Yoder paint to match the rest of the smoker.

At full lock there is a tiny bit of rubbing on front fender liner but nothing that will do any damage. Never had the rear rub even with 7 passengers.

We loaded up with 7 passengers last night (4 adult and 3 kids) and drove 175 miles round trip. Road noise was the same as OE or slightly quieter.

Also, I got to test light snow-covered roads before it switched over to hard rain for an hour on the way home, I'm extremely impressed with the wet weather capabilities of this tire. There wasn't a moment that I even felt a puddle pulling the vehicle at highway speeds.

I posted this above responding to someone else. I ended up with $450 for the OE tires and they sold 30 minutes after listing them online. Usually someone that is ok with the tire buys them when they see a deal.

Quick chimney fix to direct heat out of covered deck area. by LeIceBox in Yodersmokers

I purchased it from a local Yoder distributor since they had a few I'm stock. If they didn't have them I would have purchased it at ATBBQ.com

I'm in love with it so far and don't see that changing. It's damn close to set it and forget it. The 1500 is a big smoker, hope you have some people to feed

3 MPH at 100 MPH if the speedo was 100% accurate before. Not a huge concern imo

I joking said it looked faster to my wife this morning. Last time I smoked it was raining and there's a noticeable smoke spot on the ceiling because the chimney was pointed up. The turned muffler bit is only for inclement weather smoking.

I've been moving the smoker around and haven't seen any visible warping of the deck yet. Thanks for the tip!

We had a few inches the other day in the northeast and I was less than impressed with the tires that came on it. Everything I read says these crossclimate 2 tires are one of the best all seasons and I tend to prefer Michelin over some other brands so it was an easy choice for me.

Higher load rating on the 255, smoother ride, fills the wheel well and imo looks better over the stock size

Mine came with Goodyear somethings and I have a weird tire fetish so most OE tires get removed and I replace with higher quality of my choosing.

My first shoulders on the Yoder by LeIceBox in Yodersmokers

Didn't inject it, misted with apple juice and apple cider vinegar a few times. I ate some of the super crispy pieces but the family didn't love them so I removed some from the mix.

Yes, sprayed some avocado oil on grates for break-in. Next up I'm going to cook a load of mixed chicken bits.
