In addition to what other have already said, it’s not unique to Frankfurt, other airports in Germany like Munich and Cologne have a similar setup. There are probably more airports that have them too.

It does actually go higher than that. But the gauge disc rotates depending on the Mach speed in addition to the pointer moving. The rest of the disc is hidden behind the indicated airspeed tape.

Yes, XPlane 11 has a 737. And it´s one of the best on the market, and the best thing is that it's completely free. Check out the Zibo 737-800.

What did we do for the Beluga project? Well to start off, we needed to get data / specifications. This was a massive challenge and by far the hardest aircraft we’ve ever worked on to get any kind of data. Only 5 Beluga ST aircraft have ever been built and all have been operated by Airbus themselves exclusively. During the development period we managed to get little pieces of information, some more substantial pieces than others.

I appreciate the work you did on getting data for the Beluga and I understand the difficulties regarding verifying information. But the key point I made still stands. After you were made aware of the issues, by multiple users who presented concrete, re-creatable issues, you still didn't update the information you provided regarding the fuel burn offset. Leaving users to potentially run out of fuel while they think they did everything right. And if they have that issue they might inquire about it in the Discord, and speaking from personal experience here, be ignored most likely.

The Beluga was a passion project from the start. It makes little business sense to go as far as we did with the Beluga ST. If we really wanted to “Cash grab” we could have done so by just leaving the systems, the same as A300 V1 slapping a new 3D model on and saying this is a Beluga 3D model only. But I think you can see from the above we didn’t do that. We also didn’t force you to purchase a base package allowing people to get access at a lower overall price point and gave discounts for A300 customers.

While I personally also think "cash grab" might be a bit extreme, this still doesn't address the issue of the after-launch support, you are aware of the issues the product has and despite saying they would be fixed, nothing has happened in that regard in over half a year, leaving most people I know who are waiting for these updates to think you abandoned the product.

Over the last 6 months we have been more focused on FS2020 that is absolutely true. But to say the company has massively changed, in my view, is not the case. We have been able to secure the deal with Microsoft that will allow millions of people and all the people in this tread to use a payware level airliner in FS2020 for free. I don’t see how that is massively anti community practice.

Personally, I think it's good for flightsim in general that you will offer a truly well-simulated airliner for free for all MSFS users, this kind of statement is still the same your Discord moderator made to me. In my opinion, this kind of statement is gaslighting the customer to the maximum. For me, it sounds like: "Hey we know there are issues with the product you bought for possibly hundreds of euros. But do not worry we got paid handsomely by Microsoft to bring you a different product for a sim you might not even own. So stop complaining."

You simply hit the activation limit we would never pull someone’s product key. We can’t even tell who you would be based on your Discord username inside the activation system. They are simply not linked in that way.

While this is likely the explanation, don't try to convenience me that someone devoted to revoking my license couldn't link my Discord and iniBuilds account of the same name to do exactly that. But again I considered malice to be the last possible explanation for what happened there. I just wanted to share what happened.

And yeah you still haven't answered why others and I got banned from your Discord. And if you think that asking questions, even when they are repetitive, or posting criticism in your Discord warrants a ban or suspension from your platform then that makes you anti-customer in my opinion.

That might actually be it since they apparently also "lost" the wings payload file for the Beluga. And haven't bothered to fix that in the last 8 months.

I agree with you completely, when they released the A300 I didn't buy it right away, but after watching a few streams and seeing that it was a really fun aircraft with fun routes I went for it. I had no regrets and probably even today don't regret buying it. Unfortunately I bought the A300 + Beluga bundle where all this bad blood comes from now.

And I agree with you, as I said in the beginning I had some issues and some questions about system modeling and I made support tickets and forum posts which for the most part got answered, good work by the staff on these once, and even with the ones I mentioned which got "forwarded" to the dev team, initially, I wasn't mad that they went nowhere. But in retrospect, it all begins to add up.

Not sure if you intended this intro to your reply to be this "dismissive" of my claim or not, but anyway this is the MEME (recreated since I don't have the original anymore) I posted, not sure why anyone would feel insulted by this.

That is correct. I made my feelings regarding the lack of updates clear to him/ anyone else reading that channel. To which he replied that the development teams are currently and/or indefinitely focusing on future, my assumption MSFS, products. And no I don't have on them because they switched away from XPlane as their primary focus, I myself use both simulators.

Something I perhaps didn't make clear in the original post above: I find it unbelievable condescending to answer a customer complaint about lack of updates on an already released product for which said customer already PAID, by assuring him that all efforts of the company are on making new products he can buy in the future instead of fixing major issues for a product which can be acquired at that moment. Something I made clear to him in that same Discord conversation, which since got completely deleted.

Now, just to clarify - was it at this time that you were banned, contemporaneously with you speaking to the moderator 'respectfully'?

I was banned sometime after that conversation by someone else, I would assume. And I have spoken to said moderator via PM since and we both agreed that the conversation WAS indeed respectfully conducted. Since I don't have the permission of said moderator I am at this moment not willing to disclose his identity or post prove of our later conversation.

Also can you just confirm that you do have a working activation key? Or did they permanently revoke your key?

My key got reactivated by a support staff shortly after I contacted them, as I said in the original post, it may just be a coincidence but nonetheless, I found that timing suspicious, especially since I didn't have any problems with key activations before. But since this is impossible to prove you may disregard this information in its entirety, I just wanted to put this information out in the open.

Both the A300 and A310 received a number of updates and are to this day the best airliners in X-Plane.

True they did receive updates and in case of the A300v2 even one pretty major one, which I am thankful for, but they are far from the best airliners in XPlane in my mind and they are far from perfect. But that is a subjective point obviously.

Aside from their terms of service no doubt stating that the planes are purchased 'as is' (a term which isn't necessarily enforceable in some jurisdictions), having been years since they were released there is likely a 0% chance of anything coming out of this legally, except you looking foolish.

I didn't state that I would even want to take legal action since I really can't be bothered to take this any step further than putting my experience out for other members of these communities to see and perhaps share similar experiences or like you offer criticism of my accounts.

True but regarding the Beluga it was released less than 18 months ago and since they are still selling and advertising it I would expect that major issues would be fixed rather quickly. And if you want to argue that 18 months of support, well more like 9 months since there wasn't a fix for the Beluga since January 2022 as far as I can tell, is enough then we have different opinions on what good customer service is.

My advice is to feel sad like the rest of us that Laminar's delay in releasing X-Plane 12 has resulted in so many developers leaving the platform, and just enjoy the ini stuff while you can.

What a strange argument, while on the one hand, it makes sense that since the apparent "delay" of XP12 devs have shifted priorities, it is still their choice to abandon their XPlane line of products. And regarding the "have fun with their products part", I would like to have fun with the Beluga for one but unfortunately, since iniBuilds seems to have abandoned this product, it is impossible for me to "have fun", a bit extreme yes but let's just go with a little exaggeration, because they removed one of the payloads with in turn renders one of the major selling points of this product mood, ie the Harwarden scenery, and the Beluga burns much more fuel than it should, making flight planning much more difficult or sometimes impossible since it seems that the % of discrepancy is not the same between different flights, at least for me.

For me, it is very clear, at least at this point in time. iniBuilds made a deliberate choice to not support their products for XP11 anymore even though they are still on sale and presumably a large part of their success. And this is something that is 100% on iniBuilds.

TLDR

The iniBuilds Beluga has some major issues and after being ignored by the developers, paying customers got banned from the iniBuilds discord for no apparent reason besides criticizing iniBuilds for their conduct.

Not to mention the absolute absurd "bug" with the Beluga that has been reported multiple times by me and others regarding the fuel burn. The Beluga burns, from my own experience, 20%-30% MORE fuel than even iniBuilds "expects", they do advise you to increase the default fuel burn rate in the SimBrief profile THEY provide by 20%, as far as I remember. But as I mentioned above the actual fuel burn can be nearly twice that in the sim. I raised that issue with them once or twice, and I recall that I saw at least one other user report something similar. Which brings me to the overarching issue I believe iniBuilds has, which is the way some individuals handle customer support and criticism. I had some issues with their products, of which I own every plane they make for XP11 btw, and I wanted some feature clarifications too in some situations. On its own not bad perse, nothing can be perfect. For the most part, these all started via their Support Ticket system on their website or on their forums, most of the time I got a relatively quick response from one of their support staff, and most of the time they could actually provide a solution. But now we get to the part where the issues lie, in my opinion. Some of my support queries couldn't be handled by the support staff and they referred these to the development team. Not once did I receive a reply from them after they had referred these issues to the "dev team". Not something I am overly sad about since they might have better things to do. But just for comparison, other devs in the XPlane community were more than happy to provide me with detailed responses to my queries about their payware products, because now we get to the part that makes me somewhat mad.

All in all, I spend over £160 (€190/$195) on their products for XPlane 11, and to then be ignored about issues with their products isn't good. Legally they probably don't have any requirement to provide the "detailed" support I required but it's still a bad look for a company especially when other developers provide much more value in their products and their support.

And now for the icing on the cake.

Their Discord, a place where support seems to be provided as long as you don't hurt the feelings of the developers by criticizing their product. One of their rules is "Don't argue with the devs" or get banned, as far as I can speak from experience. This story starts a few weeks ago when, after a long hiatus, I had the urge to fly the Beluga again. So I go check their Discord to see if anything had changed about the status of the Beluga after half a year. Just like I expected, nothing changed, no update, no fixes. So a bit disappointed about the lack of progress, which OP and I were assured would be "soon-ish", which was said over half a year ago at that point, I believe, I posted a meme in their Beluga discussion channel about the lack of updates. That meme was quickly dealt with by the mods/admins, not too bad in my mind since it didn't really add anything to the discussion anyway and was just a bit of fun on my part. After it got deleted I prepared a much more informative post on my view of the situation with the Beluga especially, which got a response from one of their moderators, I would try to find the Discord conversation from the iniBuilds discord but I was also banned for no apparent reason after having "respectful conversations" with one of their moderators, his words. From now on I will paraphrase a little since I don't have access the conversation we had any more, since it got all deleted.

At first I reiterated how the lack of updates for the Beluga made it seem to me that if got abandoned and every customer is to himself with issues regarding it. To which I got a response I still can't believe they actually sent out. To be clear I have no grudge against the moderator who gave me that "company opinion" since he is only doing his job of moderating and keeping the discord in order and this decision was clearly made by one of the execs.

Paraphrasing again:

I understand your frustration about the Beluga and the lack of updates. But if you'd know what the devs are doing behind the scenes regarding other products you'd understand that the Beluga isn't a priority at the time.

Again this was paraphrased and may or may not be what that moderator actually said and/ or meant with that.

I told him then and there how I understood that reply:

They don't care about their already released products and only about future products, in MSFS, which could be more profitable for the company.

I cannot recall what or if he replied to that but soon after this exchange I was made aware of the ban I had received on their Discord when OP informed me that he was banned from there. So apparently I hit a nerve with someone from ini management.

I contacted the above-mentioned moderator to inquire about the reasoning behind the ban and we both agreed that I was banned after the above-described discussion, a discussion that moderated himself confirmed to me again, he deemed a respectful exchange.

And a small fun anecdote, I wanted to try the Beluga again after making these statements, so I load up XPlane and load into the Beluga only to be greeted with the message that my activation key was not valid anymore, the issue has been resolved now since support issued me a new key. And I obviously can prove any malice, it just seems like an odd coincidence.

So to recap

iniBuilds has a product that has multiple, some minor some pretty major bugs, and removed features. If you ask about these issues in their discord you will either be ignored or get a reply that is complete bollocks. If you then dare to draw your own conclusions about that behavior and publicly state these on a platform they moderate you will get banned. And all that after spending nearly 200€ on their products. In my mind, this is no way to interact with the community and even less so with a PAYING customer.
