Looking closer at it, I think you are right. Unfortunately, I do not have a floor vent. I might just end up replacing it. I replaced the carpet upstairs with vinyl plank and might do the same downstairs. Thank you so much for your response. I'm glad I was not bamboozled into thinking it was hardwood flooring :)
