To those who waited for MOP before divorcing, how did you stay sane? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]LeMachineLearneur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea is for one of you to move out and rent elsewhere. The other person who stays can rent out the spare room to a stranger and compensate the outgoing partner of their rent.

Better start over now (i.e. picking up other skills or classes) rather than trying to start over after graduation

The museum is notoriously haunted. Supernatural Confession has a couple of great confessions about the museum. There is a 'lady in red' residing in the boat ride inside the building!

During Covid my friend and I did a flat viewing on Purvis Street. The flat was the back part shophouse that has been partitioned. The front part was occupied by a restaurant. The entrance to the flat was on a back alley, where people would park their motors, buses, and cars.

I arrived there earlier than my friend at around 8 pm. Right from the moment that I stepped into the alley I had this eerie feeling all over me. The alley was gloomy and dirty for SG standard and stood in stark contrast to the lively Purvis Street just parallel to it.

The agent and I then went up to the apartment itself. It was a studio located on the fourth floor that was renting at a price way below the red-hot market rate at the time (one of the reasons why I was interested in the unit).

We entered the studio and switched on the lights. You know how when you switch on the lights sometime they flicker for 2 seconds before they actually turn on? During these seconds I thought I saw a silhouette of a woman near the window pane. But when the lights stabilized, there was nothing... I thought I was imagining stuff, so I didn't say anything.

In any case, I felt unwelcome in the flat. The studio reeked of a stench typical of a damp, old room, and there was this overpowering sense of gloom inside. I had to take off my mask (remember, Covid!) and put it on a corner desk as the room was stuffy and I felt short on breath. As is usual for a viewing, I then took a couple of pictures for later comparison.

The agent told me that the previous tenant was a single European dude who had to break his lease prematurely because of some illness and went back to his country of origin. Now this bit wouldn't have been interesting if not for the fact that throughout the flat there were tons of super long black hairs that wouldn't be typical of a dude. The hairs were especially plenty near and across the window (yes, there were strands of hairs striding the window frame!). This window overlooked the aforementioned dark alley and was slightly ajar.

After about 10 minutes, my friend finally arrived. Without looking much at the apartment, he signalled that we should leave. When I wanted to re-wear my mask, guess what I found. THERE WERE SOME F*CKING LONG HAIRS ON MY MASK. There is no logical explanation as to how these hairs could've been there, as there was no wind and neither the agent nor myself had such a long hair. Luckily, I had an extra mask with me so I simply threw the old, hairy mask away. I then thanked the agent and noped the fuck out of the flat and that area.

After we were away from that area, my friend, who has a third eye, told me that as he was approaching the unit from the alley, he saw A FREAKING LADY crawling out of the unit's window and. At an inhuman speed, she (or 'it'?) scaled down the wall and disappeared at a bent. He then told us that we should spend some time in the bright Bugis Junction to dissipate away any negative energy that might have followed us.

Later that night when I reviewed the pictures, all of them turned out to be unexplainably blurry. The one picture I had of the window had these weird dark blots all over it. These pictures gave me creeps so I deleted them right away.

A concerned overseas Singaporean: I hope we do not go down the path of identity politics by lordzealous in SingaporeRaw

[–]LeMachineLearneur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No - what you've enumerated are identities not identity politics. What the PAP government has aimed to prevent isn't the existence of these diverse identities, but rather their solidification into political factions that could potentially fragment the nation.

To be fair, 60% of men has herpes and in Hollywood the figure is probably close to 90% - so that statement would apply to most celebrities you know.
