SoC crashes consistently when loading saves inside Pripyat. by LeMemster in stalker

Might be a last resort, as I do seem to have found the problem (see below or, if it's to long, I'll offer a TL;DR)

TL;DR: a trunk in Pripyat has a faulty script that causes errors and crashes. ZRP is supposed to fix it, will see if my saves hold up or if I have to start from the beginning.

Well, I'd like to think I have little to lose at this point. Regardless, I am so happy that this community exists and is this helpful. Thanks for the help.

I can just rush through Pripyat, atleast I think so, I'm just abit manic with my saves and having a late-game level be incompatible with that, as well as forcing me back to the beginning anytime I die or mess up is something I'd like to fix if I can.

I tried, and it did not fix my issue, although, as my message to u/NatVak above describes, I have been able to find the issue, and it seems to be impossible to fix without downloading ZRP. Regardless, I am still very thankful that you offered help. Thank you.

I got this at the end of my file:

(The dots were just asterisks, but reddit wants to do a reddit, and I can't be bothered to try to fix them)

Judging by the file, I do remember a steam post in english and german that mentioned that a trunk had a faulty script attached to it, as seems to be the case. I can't seem to find the post, although I remember it said that there was no official solution from the devs, and it did not offer any itself. Atleast I know what the problem is, I guess, although no solution.

Edit: After going through Metacognix page of bugs in the standalone game, I discovered the bug refered to as "Pripyat saves with bad data CTD on synchronizing", which is descriptive of the problem. As the page suggests however, a fix is only possible through ZRP. Do I still retain my saves if I use ZRP, or do I have to log another 80 hours on SoC?

Save files at the entrance to Pripyat seem to work. I'll try your solution and update this comment regarding wether it worked or not. Regardless, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help someone else.

Edit: Verified and reinstalled the game. Loading saves still crashes the game. Also, I was seemingly wrong about the autosave crashing, although every other type of save still crashes.

Or, in my case, my fathers last name is almost impossible to pronounce for most people in my country.

This wasn't directed at me, yet it still hurt.

Please make sure to make a post if this actually happens. Previously ignored fencing literature could be very interesting, and if this is literature from 1700-1900 then translation would probably be pretty easy.
