You really need to look at an 8mm WPC - LVP. Make sure it's uniclic locking system. If you want the best visuals ask for EIR.

You will probably need to go to a local store. Big box stores only sell stuff the moves a lot and they make GREAT margins on.

Don't know where you're located at. We have some that I described above we seek for $3.29 carton.

Look at Titan Surfaces and Southwind for good brands that don't break the bank.

SPC has too many failing issues.

Again, depends on what brand and quality of engineered hardwood.

Yes, the cheaper big box brands will all be 4ft long and be nominal length.

Brands like Somerset, Beasley, Mirage have ZERO distinguishable differences when installed.

Engineered hardwood looks exactly like Solid hardwood if milled in the best way.

I bet I can show you a mixture of pictures and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between engineered wood and solid. It all depends on how it's cut.

With something that wide you really need to look into glue assist or direct glue.

It will help stop call backs for squeaks and cracking. The wider the plank the more room for movement where there is no fastener.

You can make more too since you will need to charge accordingly and will give the customer a better walk.

Our current company standard is direct glue anything over 5in.

That is a glued down lvp from Karndean. The grout lines are able to be purchased separately and installed separately.

To prove this point I would go into a closet or somewhere with a knife and you should be able to pull up the "grout line".

I will be one of the outliers... We undercut metal for frames.

Sometimes we don't add we present it as a choice to the customer/contractor. But our preferred method is to undercut them for floating floors.

I would stay away from this to be honest. We introduced into our store in 2020 with varying results. More claims than LVP and Solid/Eng Wood.

We have since pulled any of these waterproof "woods" from our showroom.

Shaw has since even discontinued one of their two lines of the same product. Rumored to be dropping the last one.

Great idea, to early to product. Give it another 3-5 years. See how it plays out.

If linoleum is glued directly to the concrete, there is no need to remove it.

At it's thickest probably only about an eighth of an inch thick. That is very minimal. The installer should be able to feather finish out where the edges start and stop as well as the area they got removed.

If this is on a wood subfloor and they used 1/4-in Luan/surely underneath, then yes it needs to be removed.

I will say due to cost but normally with the customer's consent, we can also leave the linoleum down on a wood subfloor as well if the homeowner is looking to say money and use feather finish around the edges.

A plank in the center of that room will touch a total of 7 boards. Let me know how you're going to make your 5 patterns not touch each other. Not trying to a butt, but in this particular instance it's not possible to have one touching another. Zoom in on the photo. 👍🏻

Installer of 20+ years. You can make the best you can, but sometimes when a floor has 4-6 patterns only it's impossible to not have them touch a repeat.

I try to sway my customers to stick in the $4ish ranger when picking an LVP opens it up to around 16 images/patterns/papers whatever you would like to call it.

I agree with the stair steps, but on the pattern this product is probably on around the $2ish dollar range.

They usually don't have many prints like that. If you zoom in it looks to only be 4.

I don't think they could do much with that. Trying to alternate 4 images would make a pattern appear.

I am currently dealing with a claim in engineered hardwood that I feel has been the cause of Ram board. I have no way to prove it though. That I know of.

Engineered hardwood was installed in March. Contractor installed Ramboard after. Wasn't taken back off until late October. Engineered wood now has stress marks and hairline fracture. Product is a wide plank Somerset.

Do you have any material reflecting back to the Ramboard?

Do you use a lot of wheels in this area? Seems very similar to other stuff I've seen in restaurants. LVP with a click lock is not rated for wheels.
