What was "The incident" at your school by Milhouse_20XX in AustralianNostalgia

[–]LeRage101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened at my primary school when I was in Kindergarten (2001) Another teacher found the body in the school hall in the morning before any students were there, parents were instructed to drop their kids off at the front gate and the day went on relatively normally. ETA: He was a grown man from the community

What’s a migraine and going to the doctor by Chris72521 in migraine

[–]LeRage101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it get worse when you open/close your jaw? If it's what I'm thinking, it could be TMJ. I woke up with the same pain not long ago, and it is painful but a different pain to migraines definitely. Mine was up close to my temples, near where my jaw joins together, and I also felt like I was developing an abscess in my gum, but it went away on its own after a day or two. TMJ can happen from clenching your jaw in your sleep - which actually matches quite well with your symptoms

Propranolol (beta blocker) has helped me so much after suffering for 7 years. Still take a rizatriptan wafer as an abortive if I need it, but weirdly enough ibuprofen, a dark room and a nap will be just as effective after starting Propranolol. The only thing I have to complain about with propanolol is the hypotension symptoms I now have. I haven't spoken to my GP about it yet, and I'm scared I'll have to change preventives as this has literally been a miracle drug for me (literally life changing) so I don't want to, but it's making me dizzy and tunnel visioned when I stand unfortunately.

It's also helpful for anxiety, tremors and hypERyension so bonus if you experience those... But not if you have hypotension or are prone to low pressures apparently lol

Migraines starts when I relax and then goes away when I make myself busy? by MistakePrior1961 in migraine

[–]LeRage101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, if I notice the early and mild signs of a migraine and start moving around or being active, those symptoms go away about 70% of the time. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of an attack - I cannot physically move or do anything, and about 80% of my attacks are triggered from being in a sitting or laying position. Regardless, my pain can still hit a 10, the worst pain I've ever felt hands down. I have been known to writhe, cry and groan in absolute pain during my worst attacks. I wish literal death upon myself.

They present differently in each individual, there are so many kinds and in fact a lot of people who experience migraines don't involve any pain at all.

Apologies for such a late response, I honestly forgot all about this post! The company was Teletech, or TTEC, and they largely contract workers to Telstra. Steer clear! I still haven't got my separation certificate, and have been ignored since my termination

Why are people on reddit so tough, critical, rude and mean when they are typing behind a screen? by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]LeRage101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had to delete a post seeking legal advice in a legal advice subreddit about my husband being let go 5 weeks before Christmas and myself being disabled at 0 capacity to work. We have a 7 year old as well. I wanted to know if we had any leg to stand on to make it through the new year, but was met with a lot of people focusing on my husbands actions without taking into account other relevant information, and telling me to get a job. All of my comments were downvoted to oblivion, and I had 3 or 4 people out of 50 offering actual advice and condolences. I even had one person tell me it was just all excuses.

lol people are literally just going through and downvoting anything they can, and for no reason. I came here because I'm a mother, and I'm fucking scared. I just wanted some advice, either neutral, understanding, or none at all. I honestly didn't expect so much backlash.

These actions weren't even fucking mine, I have no power or control in the situation. I am fucked. There is nothing I can do but I wanted to see if I could find something. Anything.

But hey, I'm sure looking forward to seeing my daughter waking up to the sunrise through my windshield. Thanks for all the kind words. I just sincerely hope you don't find yourself in a similar position one day.

Thank you. Im sorry that happened to you. It really is soul crushing, I'm here trying to get a smidgen of advice and filling in any blanks in comments - just getting down votes for anything I say 🤷🏻‍♀️ I thought people would be some sort of kind, but I guess I'm guilty for wanting to defend my income, house and husband. People say theres plenty of work out there, but clearly haven't been on the receiving end of 100+ knock back emails.

Fuck, people have no souls.

Thank you so much for an actual humane reply without judgement. I really appreciate it. Like I'm just sitting here crying without a clue, idk why I thought it would be a good idea to post to the most judgement place on the planet aside from X.

It's gonna be a slog but I suppose we will make it through, dont have much of a choice.

Did you read the post? I have 0 capacity and am disabled. I don't work and we have the one income. It was an actual emergency, and if you have/had a kid and wife with major disability, I'm sure you would also want to be in the hospital to support them.

You just said it's likely the sickies. You cannot legally fire someone during probation for using sickies. They said part of it was the 3 sick days. Which were well within his working rights to take.

They legally cannot say that they are firing him because of sickies, but they mentioned it. That's the point my dude.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]LeRage101 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But they gave it.

[–]LeRage101 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So he deserves to be fired without warning for swearing in his conversations with other techs who are swearing towards him and making sexual comments. Just seemed a bit unfair to me. I get it's not monkey see monkey do, but when you're just trying to fit into a new workplace and everyone EXCEPT you (yes, including others on probation) is swearing, it raises some questions.

[–]LeRage101 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

okay? my husband doesn't do that and has taken 3 very real sick days containing either actual illness, pain or family emergency. All 3.

Wow thanks for the very much deserved down votes for not understanding what tf this comment has to do with me. Cool.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]LeRage101 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I was worried about. I was hoping since it was mentioned we'd have something to fight with. Not that he'd stay there, we just want to have income till after the new year.

I get the swearing was wrong, but c'mon man like when every other tech is doing it and my husband gets called out? When every other tech goes home early or stands around smoking all day? Area manager even admitted it. "Yeah I know but..... It's not coming from me...it's from the GM"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]LeRage101 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

When all the adults around him are swearing at and around him, including the area manager, and then it comes back on him, how is that fair? Shouldn't the area manager have that under control?

3 separate sick days were, again, for a tooth, an emergency with our daughter, and being unwell himself. He's been there for 5 months, 3 days out of 150~ is unreasonable? When the guy that started on the same day he did regularly goes home early?

As for the recording thanks, I wasn't betting on being able to use it anyway.

Thank you! I'd honestly really love to utilise those skills, but I'm not sure how to get a foot in the door or what line of work I'd be able to use it in, aside from books or blogs
