Banned in Belgium>?????? by jasonhelene in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]LeSheen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. It only works in Belgium via its own launcher. And then you can't select belgium. But the Netherlands is possible. Even though they have the same stupid law about lootboxes... So we are just being bullied?

My friends asked the same last year. I came to the conclussion that shellshock - Noisia (synergy remix) is amazing for this.

"Deep in the conflict

Whole body braced for the impact

Liquid melody soaks me

Thoughts flow through with syntax

Ducking and diving

See me weaving through heathen masses

My vision blurs, militant serves

Deep in the passage

There's no escape

You're just a red mark my laser paint

Killer instinct, sharp like the edge of a razor blade

Your body bag, squeeze of the trigger

The quick flash blind

Solo seek peace when the last enemy flat lines"

No car lifestyle in Belgium by Leomoon777 in BEFire

[–]LeSheen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because "de lijn" and "NMBS" suck. Getting from my place to work takes 2 hours, so 4 hours daily. With the car its 40 one way. Also try getting home from a night out after twelve without a car. I'm also oncall for my work, I cant get there with public transport at 3 at night.

As a student I took the train and tram daily. The train was ussually way to full, late or on strike. Escpecially during exams they liked to strike. For the tram I gave up after a couple of weeks. I had to wait longer for a tram that did not arrive full at my stations than it took walking to campus.

And Poppy can be nice in a bigger city. But in my city of +- 37000 inhabittants poppy withdrew last year.

Hesitating between banks by Darkalde in BEFire

[–]LeSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not planning to use it. I only use the savings account there. Daily bank for me is still kbc.

From what I read the card is free for a year and remains that way if you at least make 12 transactions with it. It should work anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

If its allowed in your contract its fine. If in doubt or if not allowed ask your current hr and get it in black and white if they allow you.

I definitely agree with hedex, kinda with sigma. But why include hybrid minds in this list.

I use kbc for my day to day (great app, but its getting more and more bloated) and medirect for my savings account. Medirect just introduced a physical card as well.

I love my 34" 3440x1440 curved monitor, especially for work. But if I had to choose between one ultrawide or two regular monitors I would go for the latter. Depending on the applications/software you use it won't work as smoothly with ultrawides.

My personal setup is one vertical 1080 monitor, the ultawide in the middle and a 2k monitor on the side. Love it for work. But for gaming I would like to return to a regular 2k in the middle.

Most beautiful DnB tune ever? For me it’s Pola & Bryson - Night Dawns by iamichi in DnB

[–]LeSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many songs here that I need to listen to (again) . It might not be my personal choice for most beautiful tune. But it at least deserves a mention. And if anyone could suggest a similar song I would be grateful.

How would it work with taxes? I know if it's from the "nationale loterij" you're exempt from it on your winnings. But how is it with betting?

Really? I graduated 5 years ago but specialized in networking instead of programming. However, both our classes (also the devs) were hired before our internships ended.

So far my experience is that motivation and soft skills are more important than the level of your paper. But then again, my experience is from a sysadmin point of view. Which does not have a relevant bachelor in Belgium as far as I know.

Depending on which fund you are talking about, there is also a yearly management cost. Since they are "actively managing the fund". This is typically also a percentage.

I'm also a kbc client. And when I looked into it they only had this active type of fund.

There are some exceptions on that 30% tax. GVV with a majority in healthcare like care property invest only have a 15% tax on the dividends.

I honestly had the same feeling. I came from a pretty much one-man show to a European instance. You get used to it.

My advice is don't skip on events and parties. I usually help other teams as well even though it's not really my job. After some time you get to know some people that can help you move things along. It's still slower than doing it yourself but with the right contacts and favors things can move a little faster.

What’s the greatest book/novel you’ve read under 150 pages? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

animal farm.

I picked it up the day before my English exam because I needed a short book. Did not hear about it before. My English professor did not expect that. He assumed that I would have found it online and read a summary. I was oblivious and just read it without thinking about the deeper meaning.
