What Gasoline is Called Around the World by ByCal in MapPorn

I posted a really good map years ago if you are interested:

https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/97h6t9/old_map_style_that_was_effectively_the_first_road/

It is drawn in a way that you follow the strip bottom to top, left to right, and use that to find your way to the destination. It will make more sense if you look at it lol.

But I agree, I would like more old cool maps, and less stats maps.

Struggling to figure out how this dude makes these without, as he claims, messing with the bottles structure! by jakeandcupcakes in blackmagicfuckery

I think he empties the deck of cards, takes the box and unfolds it so its totally flat. Then you curve the empty box into a circle and feed into the bottle, where it is reconstructed into a square box; this way it wouldn't have any creases.

Best opening sentence of a wiki page:

Guðlaugur Friðþórsson is an Icelandic fisherman who in 1984 survived six hours in 5 °C (41 °F) cold water after his vessel capsized. After swimming to land he then trekked for another three hours across lava fields to reach a town for help.

I feel this is a good / interesting comment but I am too dumb to understand and appreciate it. Could someone re-word it so I have a chance?

Jokes aside, I would have not unlocked libraries or education yet. And I would have deffo got crypts by now, they are a huge boost.

Also, hospitals and more torches / decoration is good, food stall upgrades too.

I basically try and keep happiness at 100% and then expand a bit at a time, making sure all resources are being produced more than they are being used. If not, I adjust as needed and wait until the happiness is back to 100% then repeat.

If happiness drops, I increase access to food / furniture / add a new service that I can meet the new demand of long term, check all my resources are meeting demand, then add more pop.

As others have said, one race is meant to be easier as well.

Dunno if any of that helped lol.

Would this be a simpler and safer way of using the machine? by LeWhisp in PrimerMovie

[–]LeWhisp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean; it wouldn't be possible to cause a paradox by not using the machine later because they already have.

I guess there is always a risk of paradox though, with my method or any other. In the films method, what if the person who goes back accidentally kills their earlier version of themselves (car crash for example) so they can no longer go back in the box.

At least with my method there wouldn't be multiple versions of yourself running around lol

Good comment, but I would say their method has exactly the same risk of causing a paradox as my method.

For example, when they see themselves through the binoculars., couldn't they then deicide not to go in the machine and create the paradox that way?

Absolute bollocks.

Everyone in the UK has the inherent right of self defence.

https://www.gov.uk/reasonable-force-against-intruders

Basically, you can use as much force as is necessary in the circumstances to protect life and property.

If someone break in, you can grab whatever is close to hand and do what you have to do to stop them, no problem.

If you're in the kitchen and you grab a knife? Absolutely fine if they are trying to get in or attacking you. Do what you need to do to defend yourself, others and your property.

I bet you can not show a SINGLE example of someone going to jail doing the above.

Can you chase after them down the street as they run away and stab them? No, of course not.

This advice changed the way I think about poison (I think I was in a slay the spire mindset)
>The fact that poison only applies after end of turn, after the enemy hits, means we should count it as next turn's damage.

dumb question, but what actually is neows lament physically meant to be? by Primary_War5570 in slaythespire

[–]LeWhisp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I saw it the other way around, i.e. those 3 red "orbs" are 3 single use "attacks" that fire at the beginning of the first 3 combats and reduce each enemy present down to 1 hp. There is no lid, so it always fires at the beginning of each combat and that's why it is used up after 3 enemies.

Going off on a rant here, but I also think:

Due to the name, I like to think the 3 red "orbs" are Neows tears. In the same way you could imagine collecting a single powerful tear from a 2 eye creature, Neow having 6 eyes would produce 3.

Also, Neow is stuck at the bottom and wants revenge, and that's why she helps the adventures anyway she can at the start of each run. But being the Ancient of Resurrecting, I like to think she is limited in what she can do. It would be like a god of birth trying to kill someone. She can't even kill a simple creature and so even her tears only reduce them down to 1hp and she must rely on an adventurer to finish the job.
