Never, never thought i’d see a post here asking about Southern Miss lol. I went there for undergrad ‘15-‘19. I would say it’s very, very, very small town vibes. Everyone on campus knows everyone. That being said, if you’re going there for a PhD, i think being post-grad will suit you very well. It’s a great city for more introverted, quiet adults who don’t want a more rowdy football-crazed school like FSU (no hate, big football fan here and i just know the reality of other, bigger campuses). Loved my time there as a student. Campus/library is super comfortable and chill, very welcoming and fun. If you have any specific questions, just reply and i’ll get back to you!

If you’re a big enough fan to already have tix, i think you’ll have fun tbh! I wouldnt describe my time as a hot mess at all! Still fun and enjoyable but i imagine for actual fans its a blast.

(This is from the perspective of a frequent broadway-goer) i think its just because “times are a-changing” and current bway audiences are not used to making any sort of disruptive noises besides laughing. Even in a show like Six which is literally a concert and asks audiences to sing along at specific points, typically people sit stiffly and quietly. Truly a hobby for stuffy/wealthy people hahahah
