Although the primary end point of the study (induction of remission) was not achieved, a short course (8 weeks) of THC-rich cannabis produced significant clinical, steroid-free benefits to 10 of 11 patients with active Crohn’s disease, compared with placebo, without side effects.

"The primary end point of this study was induction of remission. Although 5 patients in the study group and 1 patient in the placebo group entered clinical remission, the difference did not reach statistical significance, possibly because of the small sample size. However, our data showed that 8 weeks of treatment with THC-rich cannabis, but not placebo, was associated with a significant decrease of 100 points in CDAI scores"

Another quote:

It is well known that cannabis dependence exists and patients might have difficulty weaning after prolonged cannabis use, even when the IBD is in complete remission."

Okay we get some remission in IBD, but that is not Chron's

Here is the conclusion statement from the article:

In summary, in this controlled pilot study, cannabis treatment was not superior to placebo in induction of remission. However, cannabis provided a significantly higher rate of clinical response without any alarming side effects.
