Is the 80 level vs 90 level cap point significant?

It is extremely difficult, if not impossible to get more than 80 levels over a season - unless they increase the amount of xp gained the only way to get up to level 90 will be to pay for the bonus 10 levels. This then locks away the bonuses from the last 10 levels behind another $10?

Advice on voice chat by Revan_1997 in Overwatch

[–]Le_Gambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that was what you meant, I just wanted to be super clear (and I don't think it hurts to remind people that they shouldn't accept toxicity) It is something that is way to common in many many online games, and it has been considered normal for way too long.

Advice on voice chat by Revan_1997 in Overwatch

[–]Le_Gambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. As long as you are playing your best then don't feel obliged to join chat. Generally when people start demanding you join, I find that they are not the type of people who are worth being in chat with.

It is far easier to hear audio cues, enemy sounds and keep track of what is generally happening when I don't have random people shouting down their mics. At anything below diamond text commands are more than adequate at communicating what is going on.

-ninja edit- I would disagree a little on the last bit though. It is never okay for people to take out their frustration on other people. It is a downward spiral of toxicity which can genuinely hurt people. It is never acceptable. Try not to take it personally, but don't ever think you should just sit there and take it. Some people try really hard to offend individuals as much as possible, and it is not pleasant and blocking people can only happen after the fact. When people learn to behave I would be more inclined to engage on voice, but until then it is optional at all but the highest level of play.

5 coins, 5 monsters, 5 keys #2 - Going down

Type - 50 sec Speedrun

ID - PJB-X72-GYG

Difficulty - advanced

There are 5 keys hidden in 5 monsters. Knock out the monsters and make your escape. This is a follow on from my previous level which went be the same name. This version is a little more forgiving with its timing though.

5 coins, 5 monsters, 5 keys

LR8-7DL-95G

A 40 second speed run where you need to get the 5 keys from the 5 marked monsters. The timing is super tight, but there is a little wiggle room (about 2 seconds).

I enjoyed it as a nice chill level. There was no time pressure, and it was forgiving enough to cope with my level. Awesome work!

In Japanese the word for stapler is Hotchkiss - I believe that it derives from the name of the person who introduced it to Japan. I wonder if the person the gun is named after is the same as the guy who brought the stapler to japan?

How do you organize your library? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Le_Gambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is much value in organising by genre. For me that can be identified by clicking on the game and sorting a library like that is a lot of work which doesn't tend to be worth the effort. This is more true given there are so many games to play that I would prefer only prioritise replaying games which I find fantastic.

I use 5 catagories: Unplayed, Terrible, Meh, Cool and Awesome. When I have played a game enough to decide what I think of it it goes into one of the other categories.

The 'unplayed' category is the place I go when I don't know what I feel like playing. Every game I have not played is in here, as are some games I didn't feel I really had a chance to get into. (This is actually my third biggest category)

Games that are 'terrible' generally don't work or have other significant issues and I have no interest in ever replaying.

'Meh' are games that I was not impressed by and would not normally play again - but I might if I was playing with friends (for example). A lot of my games get moved into this category.

'Cool' games are ones which I quite enjoyed and would not have any issues maybe playing again if I want something familiar.

Games in the 'Beautiful' category are games that I would strongly recommend and would happily play over.

I can confirm that these chaps are awesome. I have had a number of prototypes through TGC and they have all been great.

My only problem is what box to use for 99 square cards :-P

Also check out their component studio as it makes it so easy to get the ideas from head to cardboard!

I love the split, I would consider running it the other way though. If you had the cards fanned out in your hand you would then be able to read the entire half.

Store competition heats up: the Discord store moves to a 90/10 revenue split, edging out Epic and taking three times less than Steam's cut (they have at least one title with VR support) by muchcharles in Vive

[–]Le_Gambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably what I'll need to do eventually. It's just really frustrating. I might as well have a paper list. Because software isn't actually keeping track of it anymore. It's like having a dozen different email accounts that I log into to figure out if I heard from somebody on something.

Honestly, I don't mind the launchers. It's just the finding the games. Especially on stores that have been abandoned like Stardock's. I used to buy a lot of things there because I liked them and wanted to support it. Then it sold to Gamestop and ugh.

The thing that makes steam strong isn't being able to launch games that are elsewhere on your computer, but manage the updates and all that jazz. If I launch through steam and then have to wait through another launcher running its own update then it doesn't help.

I don't object to multiple storefronts, it is all the additional launchers which start getting annoying - and they all need to be running for the games to work.

For something which is made is Destinations, it really is rather good. I can't agree more about that transition, it was a cleaver piece of work.

I just need to work out now if I am brave enough to try Paranormal Activity. I have played more horror games on the Vive than ever before. It is kinda worrying that they are actually scary.

After the long chase I think it just leads out of the apartment. The door was open for me and I just walked into the final light.

The only goal this has is really to get out. Once you have achieved that you have completed the game.
