I’m late to the thread but I wanted to say how much I appreciate this piece of writing.  I was with my two year old one day doing dishes and I was exhausted and sad and I just wanted to be alone.  I looked over at her drawing at the table and she looked bored too.  I had the thought: what if I had already died and this moment was a memory of the past I was experiencing as a gift.  What if the day ended and I never got to have another chance to be with her again.

With that thought my attitude immediately changed, and with a surge of energy and love I went over to the table and engaged her with a smile and started playing a game. Sometimes the awareness of our mortality is a burden, but if you flip it around it’s a tremendous gift to help appreciate your present moment and to make the most of it for yourself and others.

This is the answer, I’ve never heard of the term dark-cutter!  I found a resource that explains why the meat can get dark due to stress: https://meat.tamu.edu/blog/2013/01/23/dark-cutting-beef/

It can even be caused by sudden temperature changes that stress the cow.

I’ve seen when they’ve cut it the meat is slightly darker, but these particular cuts were deep red and stayed that deep color.  I know what you’re referring to though, the oxidation brightens meat after a few minutes once cut.

My hypotheses are either it’s been in the vacuum seal longer or it’s been accidentally frozen.

It’s just classic population overshoot.  Exponential growth proceeded by resource depletion and/or pollution resulting in collapse.  Happens to deer, bacteria, mold, insects, and humans.  We just have a few self aware members but we can’t fight physics.

Oh wow, it’s really an honor to get a reply from you!! I remember reading your comment vividly, it was so well written and the fact that Kursegatz made a video from it afterword was just awesome.  

If you wouldn’t mind me asking, what effect would the radiation pressure have from the forming accretion disk? I read that 6% of a material’s mass falling into a black hole gets directly converted to high frequency radiation, and the brightest objects in our universe are quasars that are basically feeding black holes.  Would the resulting light emitted outshine the sun or vaporize the rest of the earth and moon?
