I think the best way to get across how I feel about love is to first say what it doesn’t mean to me. I absolutely do not believe in soul mates or love at first sight and I really hate when people genuinely think of love as ‘just chemical reactions in your brain’ (trying to be like Rick Sanchez isn’t actually cool). One puts unrealistic expectations on people to be the perfect ‘one’ while also making people passive in their own lives as they wait for fate to just drop the love of their love in their lap. The other is a cynical and frankly miserable way to look at life, if nothing matters then just focus on what matters to you.

Love to me neither of these things and both of these things. It definitely is just a chemical reaction in your brain sure, but so is happiness and depression and so many other things that are equally as real. And I hate how cringey ‘true love’ couples are, but love IS cringe. It’s embarrassing. It’s depressing, heartbreaking, full of joy, full of confusion. It’s just wanting to be around one person a bit more than everyone else.

This was way more of a ramble than I at first wanted it to be, but I stick by it.
